Who is "they" ? We aren't talking about retail investors here. The main people investing in the rights issue are well informed financiers, Qatar Airways etc. The RI was fully subscribed so its clear the clever ones know the potential risk/reward here is worth the count.

PMSL, the cash adds to the market cap. You really think that shorts would be closing in recent days if you thought it was going to 45p? You are sort of right but the adjustment was done when it dropped a couple of weeks ago.

The mechanics of the market don't work like that. The shares have already been "paid for" so to speak.

That said, its likely to drop tomorrow anyway with the dow tanking in the last 10 minutes after trump suspended stimulus talks...

Agreed, they have made it clear at this point they aren't planning to raise cash for cashflow, its to strengthen the balance sheet.

Always on the cards in my opinion. Everyone knows Turkey has been fudging their figures for a while. I read a report about a month ago from a hospital executive saying in their hospital alone they were at breaking point and pretty much not far off matching the total country count they were claiming! Its at the end of the summer season so can't seeing it making too much difference in revenue all things considered.

Am I missing something? Surely, even though that Travel weekly only reported it today, its old news from last month....

it was yesterdays news but a union rep that works for Easyjet!! Hardly an announcement from someone with credibility. WE all know airlines aren't in great shape anyway. Besides, Easyjet denied it today:

EasyJet said that the recording "does not reflect" the views of the company or Mr Findlay, and that it would be taking a "prudent approach to capacity" over the winter.

In a statement, the company said: "The recording does not reflect what easyJet or its chief financial officer said.

"We have been clear the whole industry has been impacted by the pandemic. However, EasyJet has taken a prudent approach to capacity and the right actions on cash preservation.

"The airline continues to keep all liquidity options under review, but no decisions have been taken.

Not sure I like the new terms of the bondholders. The new senior notes are set at 9.5% with the resolution fees tripling. Thats 9.5% for these notes and 9.5% for the state loan. Turning out to very very expensive borrowing....

Its unlikely Spain, and the islands will be coming out of quarantine soon. With our own rising cases, it now appears we will add/remove countries at will and not just on the Thursdays. Besides, people just aren't booking at the minute due to the constant changes. Just look at Portugal which is likely to be added again. I do feel for the airlines as it must be an absolute nightmare for them..

well it might tomorrow. England just announced 7 Greek islands added to quarantine list. Bit of a shock as they normally add on a Thursday evening...
