Having worked a PR Newswire some years back and knowing how the Disclosure dept operated, I know they did receive discloser announcements after close the day prior to allow them to prepare the 7am simultaneous release to all agencies. So yes there are situations were a limit number of staff were aware of info prior to the release but it could not hurt as it was always after the close the day before. If a contact with that info chooses to risk their job by tipping friends off it can happen. Not saying this is the case with this and it may be rubbish but I can see how it can happen.

So is tomorrow the day we will get some info? A poster on ADVFN claims to have a mole at Reuters who says tomorrow is the day and a offer is coming. I always take these things with a pinch of salt but we can dream. GL

The BOD really need to Sh*t or get off the pot and make some sort of announcement either way, the uncertainty is killing the share price. Right now I’d rather bad news and the price drop on actual news rather than where we are at the moment. Complete Muppets!!

Not again...

I was looking through some of the news stories from back in November last night looking for any clues and spotted one that rumoured Bwin.party had told potential suitors that they had till the end of Feb to put forward any proposals. If there is any truth to that, and the long delay may confirm it, we may hear something good or bad after tomorrow. I just hope they haven’t been keeping quiet until tomorrow on the off chance something comes along and then it doesn’t. Just like everyone else I'm feeling very uncomfortable about this and I do fear they will disappoint once again, hell, why change a habit of a lifetime!

Wouldn’t put it passed them. Wow, what a kick in the teeth that would be after all this time. You have to always expect the worst from this lot but could they really be THAT bad?........probably!

Gibson’s previous relationships with Hills and Playtech is note worthy, although would not like to read too much into it. The interesting point is the sight of any RNS that’s not telling the market about a deal looks to be seen negatively as the price dropped 5% or is this a coincidence? I do think that the longer this goes on the more chance something will come of it, it might be a case of an announcement alongside the results on the 10th March, at least it will bury the bad news on the results. Truth is it’s all up in the air we know nothing which accounts for the extreme reactions in the price at the moment. GL all.

Panic was the correct word today, as soon as the price breached 90 it was stop loss hell from that point. Assuming there’s no RNS pre open I think we might see a return to 90 during the morning. The issue is where does it go from there? We all know that the company as a whole is not in great shape to say the least and I do wonder if the BOD will get desperate enough to offer this at £1 to £1.10 to anyone who will take it, the sports book and bingo alone must be worth that to someone, although I’m not sure the shareholders will be happy with that. On the other hand the shareholders might just take the money a run as the alternative is around 60p going forward under the current management. Thoughts?

Thanks for the share pseudonym. Gives some hope that the price may come back some on Monday. Sadly still fear the worst in the long run.

Normally with this kind of drop we would see a small bounce by now? Worrying

I think the fact it’s been 3 months since the announcement of the possibility of takeover talks it’s a tricky one to perceive at this stage. On one hand it’s been a long time and patience is growing thin, but on the other hand as they are yet to release notification that any possible deal is now dead could lead you to think that something may be on the cards. Surely after this amount of time if it’s dead, it’s dead and we would know by now? Am I right is saying that they are required to release an RNS if no deal has been made? We all need a crystal ball for this one. It’s a risky gamble for sure.

And so ends another wonderful week of this share going nowhere under Mr. Teflon. Well, I say nowhere – Down to be correct.

What speaks volumes here is that 888 are just as affected by the VAT rule change yet there price is up today! Clearly there’s confidence that their management will not let this adversely affect their bottom line. Nobody expects anything good from our lot anymore. I think this year’s AGM might require metal detectors at the door, anyone got access to a plastic gun? (joke)
