Yeah, I dread to think what they may of uncovered during due diligence. I’m actually sort of tempted to hang on now and see what GVC can do with my shares in them, the cash element will refresh my bank balance to make me feel good enough about letting the shares roam free. If their performance with SBT is anything to go by I have a lot more faith in them than Teflon and co. The GVC share price did double in a fairly short time frame on a good performance, although this deal would take some more time in my view. You’re right greed is NOT good!!

Kamel, slowly we’re getting close to your 106 point, it’s harder sometimes to know when to sell then buy? I think 888 is going to be a non starter, the rumour is the offer is a lower price and I can’t see Teflon wanting to lose face even entertaining it, even if the deal may bring more value in the long run. I have to say that 888/Party combined in the states would be a plus, especially if Amaya is still seeing road blocks in many states if and when they finally open. The only tricky issue would be the partners, MGM and Caesars, would they be happy to team up? So many questions, but I think 9 months was long enough to sort this out by now.

I fear if we don’t hear from 888 by Monday’s close that their offer was only discussed in private and most likely below the 110 mark. Shocking indictment on our board, but we all know how great they are don’t we? If the 110 bid does somehow get accepted with the half cash/share offer the only plus would be that if us long suffering Bwin.party holders decide to hold the GVC shares we may have a chance of actually seeing the price move up instead of down as we have all become accustomed too for the last 5 years. It may not be too long before we see the 130 value we hoped for at this stage. Just as long as our current bod’s have nothing to do with the new GVC set up, God forbid! The other option is to decline the offer and watch the price drop back to 70 very quickly with little chance of it getting anywhere near 110 anytime soon, if ever, the bod’s are just not up to the job, I wonder if spring owl and the other major holders will have the same view and take the gamble of accepting this deal. Never the less, I’ve still got my fingers crossed that a counter bid arrives in the next few day’s with will put a whole to complexion on the situation. I sure 888 must see the advantages of merging with us rather than competing with another even bigger competitor.

Despite the price slipping there is still no shortage of buyers today. Come on 888 show your hand and get this thing moving at last. Just don’t want an RNS from this lot saying that discussions have ended after nearly 9 months with nothing.

I think this 1.10 bid is an opening salvo from GVC, it should now bring out 888 with a counter. Spring Owl are in at 1.26ish and very unlikely to accept anything south of that. I guess it’s 888’s move now, around 1.20 would seem fair.

Hi Malta, looking at the price this morning despite the Greek issues, it looks like there may be some truth in that Times article. Don’t think any holders are willing to let go at this stage.

The thought did cross my mind about him having more free time soon too. Duffelturder has got a lot to gain from a high bid so it would not surprise anyone if he screws us all by being too greedy. Tick Tock..

More or less what we've been saying earlier...

Analyst Nick Batram at Peel Hunt said: News of the desire of the trustees of Emerald Bay and Stinson Ridge to sell down their respective holdings does come at a strange time. However, unless a potential suitor has acquired the holding then not much has really changed. Whilst the timing is consistent with the requirement (under the October 2013 agreement) to sell prior to the end of October 2015, to do it when the group is in active discussions with a number of suitors is curious. Clearly the trustees are not privy to any of the discussions, therefore there could be a number of possible reasons. First, they could have been approached by one of the suitors. Second, it may well be that an (or several) aggressive investors have a positive view on the likely outcome of talks and they approached the trustees. Finally, it could just be that the trustees felt that the risk reward situation was suitably balanced for them to complete the sell down. Our view remains that a bid is the most likely outcome. Much will depend on the scale of synergies and the execution risk the bidders place on any deal. At the top end, it is possible to see 130p plus but equally a more cautious stance on execution risk suggests limited upside from here. If a bid does not materialise then the stock could head back to the 80p-90p level. On balance our view remains that investors should hang on.

Thanks QE. looking at the sells so far I think the deed is now complete and the price had held at 94-95 so fingers crossed the worst is over.
