We can’t be sure, we don’t know the costs involved so can’t rule it out completely although I think it’s unlikely. I hope your right on the COPD element and we get an early update on the interim results in June.
Not sure a placing is likely given the below:
Placing 2020
COVID-19 clinical trial activity (GBP7 million)
Results 2019
Research and development expenditure for the year amounted to GBP3.46 million (2018: GBP3.23 million) and the majority of this expenditure was on running the IFN-beta Phase II clinical trial in COPD.
Roughly 3.5 million to run the trial in COPD similar for Covid? Budgeted 7 million scope for hospital and home trial.
Placing 2020
Strengthened balance sheet for potential partnering discussions, working capital and fees (GBP3 million).
Results 2019
At 31 December 2019, net assets amounted to GBP2.25 million (2018: GBP6.03 million), including cash and bank deposits of GBP2.45 million (2018: GBP5.33 million).
Combined that is roughly 5.5 million. If the trials went over budget there is scope here. Partnering Discussions, Partnering Discussions, Partnering Discussions, just saying.
Placing 2020
Manufacture of SNG001 drug product and other supply chain considerations (GBP4 million);
Results 2019
Data from the hospital trial will read out during the summer, and, if positive, the Company will work closely with regulators to determine an expeditious route to securing approval for SNG001, a treatment we believe could play an important role in addressing the current COVID-19 crisis and similar viruses in the future. In parallel, the Company is now working with manufacturers to scale up for potential demand for SNG001. The outlook for the business is positive and we look forward to updating the market on further progress in due course.
Making use of the 4 million to be ready to meet demand, skip stage three trials if given the green light?
Can we put the placing theory to bed it’s late?

Can I bring your attention to the dates on the link above. Is there any reason why the same can’t apply here?
Could the reason we have not seen a TR1 be because the order is not complete? If Lansdowne have placed a sell order for 10 million would they only need to inform the market once complete and there have dropped through their%? I know they notified previously but maybe they were drip feeding into the market. Maybe this one is a clear out and therefore until complete no need to report? Was it another 1.5 mill today after hours?
The interested party theory that was discussed yesterday is well supported by the below:
Strengthened balance sheet for potential partnering GBP3m
discussions with regards to the COVID-19, future
pandemic preparedness, and the COPD opportunity,
working capital and fees
They clearly want to bring the COPD data into play ready for those partnering discussions.
Ok thanks for bringing me up to speed. Are we speculating partner or take over? I presume the former as the question I have always asked is why would someone buy the company without any substantial proof the product works? This theory has some legs as they clearly stated in the placing that they were raising money for partnering discussions and stated the COPD element. I can see why they would want to get the results now as having data from Covid and COPD would be a much stronger bargaining base to negotiate from. Why would you not want the evidence and data from your key work stream on the table?
Nolupus can you repost your theory please? I have missed it. Relates to the COPD results?
I stand by the belief that there is evidence to come on who’s position has changed. 6th May last confirmed trading by Lansdowne 70p plus, 27th May SP 45p. Big after hours trades everyday, constant morning drop in the SP all the evidence points to them clearing the deck IMO. The company is in a better position now than on the 6th of May!!! The only doubt is a lack of confirmation. The only other reason I can see for the drop is what some have mentioned Covid Hot Money people jumping from share to share. I keep fixing my thoughts on the long road that ultimately leads to someone taking all this off the little company’s hands and at what price, is it just a thought though? Weeks like this really test your strength. I saw it before in another share seller cleared and SP rerated, keeps my faith and focus. By August we will have 3 sets of results, if they all fail at least I can feel we gave it a bloody good go. If all 3 succeed it will feel like the journey is just beginning. Thankfully I have taken the mentality I don’t need to touch them so can see through until the end, I just hope for all who I have seen post with hope and optimism that we succeed. But most of all support fighting a pandemic that has ultimately changed all of our lives.
I don’t think they know anymore than us on the trials they can’t it’s not possible. What I do think is there is instruction to offload at given price points by the II which is what has created this coiled spring on the chart. I believe this unloading is what is holding the SP back, I have seen it before and given where the company is heading and the positive news flow 50p does not feel right. There is also a left field theory that there is a buyer operating in the trading range as what has been unloaded is a lot for PI to absorb. What I do think is cone August this will all be irrelevent. Patience required.
The II know no more than us but the ability to sell and buy their holdings is not transparent, the SP is disjointed IMO. This will rerate, should be 70/80p not 50p IMO. Too many shares on offer, being well managed for something.
Nolupus what’s your thinking on the COPD announcement? Given the discussion?
Yeah I’ll explain it’s bo***cks , something is going on and us PI are clueless and just see the SP struggle to hold 50p while someone is dumping behind closed doors and someone else filling boots. Two weeks since last TR1 trade pattern and SP performance tell me we are not the full picture.
I don’t think they intend to finish it, they have asked for unblinding with the hope it compliments Covid19 trials and they push it all through together. I can’t see why you would unblind to then recruit 11 more people and then assess the data again? They must have put forward a good case to get approval. Both RNS are really positive only draw back is July results not June, give us the TR1 that tells us under 3%! Not logical response today.
Let the short term sell out, let it digest and sink in maybe not today but as the week progresses. Let’s not forgot we don’t yet know the position of Lansdowne they must be due to update on their position and until this is know hard to tell if this is being held down on supply. Patience required but the possibility of three trial results by end of August with supply and production ready to meet huge orders and the possibility of regulators granting expediated approval.
Interesting to see how the market takes this, delay in results as recruitment has slowed. But novel home trial, read the small detail COPD trial results Summer 2020 they have decided to unblind early to assess the data, very positive and may not have been digested by many. Supply and production scaled up and ready if results are good, 17% income from another high potential drug. Some positive messages, just more waiting let’s see where we settle this week I would hope in the 70s as some really positive points to take from the RNS’s today.
Correct helps if I could read!! Forgot there is only 87 mill shares! Change in % as part of placing additional shares
% gone down by shares gone up, did they buy in the placing?
80p or a £1 is pointless if they announce good results and don’t have the infrastructure or funds to progress production. Prudent to have raised enough to cover what they stated so that there is no delay in supplying the drug or inhaler and to partner up for global distribution. Bit of pain for us in terms of SP but that will right itself and rerate. Be nice to get an update and see a TR1 confirmation to understand Lansdowne intentions surely past another % by now I thought they had 3 days?? Saw an RNS in one of my shares 5% threshold reached informed the market a month later!!
Update imminent and will confirm Home trials as outlined on the 30th April. I also expect it to confirm final patient dosed. Then I would expect last 10 days in June for results.
That is the underpinning point, they have not had much to report as things normally take a lot longer to progress. The current climate has provided a unique opportunity to accelerate years worth of work to transform the company. I think the placing needed to be done quickly to get to a position where they could complete trials, get drug manufacturing underway to prepare for supply demands in the near future and also to be in a stronger position for any outside interest when the time arises. I think we may need to accept that speed and quality of data are the key components in play here, maybe in the near term it might feel that institutions were looked after first but a small company such as this won’t have huge options and I am sure they have done what they can with the larger rewards waiting for us PI at the end of the tunnel.
