These masks have only been certified as surgical Type II, designed for protection of patients rather than wearers - aren't even classed as PPE (like FFPT2/3 masks) by regulators. Inner layer a gimmick - takes 7 hrs to kill 90% virus - trivial compared to issues like inner air leakage.
egType I, I R, II and II R face masks are medical masks tested in the direction of exhalation (inside to outside) and take into account the efficiency of bacterial filtration. Surgical masks of this type stop the wearer from infecting the surrounding environment. They are not effective at protecting the wearer from airbourne diseases such as coronavirus.

Some people who confuse mask types are likely to die !

These masks are just surgical ones (TypeIIR). NOT designed or tested to protect the wearer like FFP2 or FFP3 standard. Even Ebay sellers won't be allowed to market them as v effective for wearer. Too much air leakage for one thing.

Evil Banksta wrote a detailed piece on share profets ( as a bear) a few months ago re likelihood of failure -and history of dodgy claims. The actual article is behind paywall but this was his reply to someone in the comments ....

The Munich prototype was "feasible" (so "feasible" that apparently PHE agreed unconditional sales contracts) but then it was actually built and it failed.

The Brisbane prototype was also "feasible" and supposedly "fully functional" except that it never generated any revenue and PHE decided to abandon it.

And ditto the Chester prototype was also "feasible" until they built it and found that it didn't work ... except for very short periods of time, only using refined feedstock and that it had to be stripped down and rebuilt after being used.

Now the fourth prototype is supposedly "feasible". But it hasn't been built, it's never been tested and before it can be they will need to find some suckers to finance the build as they only have £280,000 of cash at bank.

And FWIW, I'm sure that Air Partners thought that their gasification technology was also "feasible" before they punted a billion dollars on trying to build it.

I really shouldn't have to point out the meaning of the word "feasible": just because something is feasible on paper doesn't mean that it will actually work in practice. PHE's 18 year track record with its previous three "feasible" gasification prototypes is hopeless and given that there are numerous examples of bigger businesses with deeper pockets also failing I speculate that the technology will never work in practice."

Newboy - they might if it's a related party deal ( nothing to lose). TW has done a follow on piece showing Howard White is nested with both companies and we don't know whose pocket this money has come from.

Revenue for the corresponding half last year was US$207.1 million .
I'm expecting it to be quite a bit lower this time.

Looks like a spivvy little ramp tactic to me.
And peanuts compared to the broker guidance of £13.2 mill loss for 2019 and £10.7mill loss for 2020.
