How can it be that Ethiopia is now concerned with the elections taking place in Tigray in June 26, but at the same time is planning a war against that province and/or Eritrea?

It doesn't make any sense to be concerned with elections in a region that one currently intends to attack.

Gold up, most gold companies up and Kefi performance is the worst today.

Whats wrong with this stock?

As you will notice, I always like to compare Kefi to Montage Gold, who have a similar project on the Ivory Coast.

The foundation stone was laid 12/2024

Stock price was

1,50$ 12/2024

1,50$ 01/2025

1,63$ 02/2025

2,20$ 03/2025

2,60$ 04/2025

3,20$ 04/2025

And then the price rose steadily.

As you can see, their SP did also not explode the next day after their groundbreaking ceremony.

Assuming this development also applies to Kefi, it could take another 1-2 months before the price begins its upward trend.

Why is it like that? Maybe the market wants to see first there is really some work going on in the ground.

So far, all that's been seen at Kefi is an empty brown area with a sign showing what it's supposed to look like, but no real major construction work has taken place yet.

For example at Montage Gold there are now around 3000 worker at the construction site.

I think we need to see that happening with Kefi soon, and then the SP should react accordingly.

The problem with all the articles you find is that they don't present any real news at all.

They're either simply repetitions (often incorrect ones) of things that are already known, or they just rehash existing history with a new date, without actually introducing any new information.

There's no real news, so they just repeat what's already known every day to create the impression that there's something new. Often, they simply tell untruths, which is why the Ethiopian government felt compelled to refute these false social media reports on February 21st.

A few days ago, he mentioned in one of his videos that people are fleeing Tigray. There are no free seats on planes or buses. Of course, he didn't cite any source for it. So you just believe this guy and repost his videos as proof?

Well at that day i watched this video i just checket Ethiopian Airlines internet site for available flights from Mekele to Adis and could find plenty flights. Even now you find still available flights. Next one available on monday 02.03.

That guy talks a lot of nonsense. But he has to do it, otherwise his channel will be dead.

I watched a few of his videos. He generally doesn't post any sources and only says "he knows it or he was taught it."

The same applies to newspapers and other social media news. There's no real news, so they continuously report the same outdated stuff every day, creating the impression that something's happening, or refer to some nonsense that someone else has posted

One more example:

Two or three days ago, there was an article somewhere saying that Egypt would support Ethiopia access to the sea.

The article was also posted here.

So much nonsense is being posted about Ethiopia from all sides, which is why the government felt compelled on February 21st to clarify the situation and point out the nonsense circulating on social media.

Nevertheless, people are still reading and believing this rubbish.

The aricle that you post before is just a copy and paste from an older article from 20.02.

It is even written just at the beginning:

You article is just copy and paste from old news from 20.2. so nothing new and you fall for it.

But ethiopian government contradicted the false reports in social media on 21.2.:

But somehow someone always manages to resurrect these old and false reports and report them as news.

Just look at the youtuber someone post a link here who claimed war in 48h last week. Now he changed to some days/weeks and next will be in war in maybe 2-3y.

They have to report something to get clics even if the reports are already proved wrong. But whats better than war topic to get clics? Ridiculous.

I think there are still many milestones ahead of us, even after the financing is secured.

For example, the regular publication of construction progress updates, so that we can see how the mine is growing each month.

Not to forget a constant gold price around $5000 or even better above that.

I not think Kefi will be at only 5-7p pre production.

Just take a look at Montage Gold. They have already a stock market value of ~4 billion USD and will just to produce end of 2026.

Production target ~300K ounces for first 10y.

Kefi has around half the size of Montage and also half of loan for building the mine.

Well i dont know how fast the work can go on. I understand that open pit is more easy to mine.

Montage Gold also was faster with commissoning than planned and they have the same company to build the mine.

So hopefully Kefi could be faster with first production in 2027

And of course there is some country risk. Ethiopia, Mexico mining is not the same as Canada mining.

Because there are currently tensions in Ethiopia, this is also having a negative impact on the share price, regardless of how far away the border is.
