KEFI Gold and Copper (AIM: KEFI) recently started construction of its 86%-owned Tulu Kapi gold project in Ethiopia after the company secured US$355 million in funding.

Production is expected to average 166,000ozpa of gold at AISC of around US$1200/oz from 2028.

Based on gold prices of US$3000-5000/oz, the project is forecast to generate average EBITDA of around US$355-697 million per annum over the first three years of production.

Total net cashflow over seven years is estimated at US$1.8-3.4 billion at gold prices of US$3000-5000/oz.

This week, KEFI signed the project’s largest operational contract, the mining services agreement, with BCM Group for the provision of services valued at more than US$400 million over the initial nine-year mine life.

I may not be a mining expert, but one thing I'm quite certain of:

There will be no additional processing plant near Kefi's Tulu Kapi mine. All existing gold or newly discovered gold that can be easily transported to Kefi by truck will be processed at Kefi's Tulu Kapi facility.

Any existing licenses will be transferred to Kefi one way or another.

Anything else simply doesn't make financial sense. Not to mention the environmental impact.

AAZ produced last year only around 25.000 ounces of gold. Kefi will produce how much in the first full year? Much more than 100.000 ounces.

I think that this justifies a higher market value for kefi or not?

kefi isn't the only mining company in ethiopia, is it?

why only kidnappings at mining companies? aren't there any other companies in ethiopia whose staff would also be well-suited for kidnapping?

what if the mine is destroyed by an earthquake after it's fully constructed? i know tulu kapi isn't a typical earthquake zone, but can it be ruled out 100%?

In the 2024 repoprt they wrote:

"Subject to the results of planned drilling to extend resources at depth, targeted to make a larger contribution than is

currently assumed in financial modelling. As the deposit remains open, KEFI has identified the potential for exploration to

triple the current 330,000 ounce underground MRE to c. 1 million ounces."

"The Komto‐Guji structure strikes over 9km and has potential for 0.3 to 0.5 million ounces of gold oxide mineralisation in

shallow open pits that may be processed by heap leach, or at the Tulu Kapi processing plant.

The Tulu Kapi gold district has enormous potential and is clearly a multi‐million‐ounce gold system."

If all these resources are confirmed Kefi could easy process almost 3 mio. ounces in their mill in Tulu Kapi in future.

Saudi Arabia and the Konso project aren't even taken into account in all of this. Hope there are some mores news in the 2025 report abut that

I'm also curious about the figures on Monday.

They should actually hold almost half their market value in cash alone after the last capital increase and the royalties (if these have already been paid).

What I find strange about Xhita is that about 10 days ago he said he was going to Africa for work and therefore wouldn't have time to post for two weeks. But he's posting more than ever before. An average of 10 posts a day.

I really wonder how someone manages to do that alongside their daily job. Reading comments, writing long posts, and simultaneously going about his daily work. Strange...

Just for comparison:

Montage gold is already valued at several billion USD on the stock market one year before production begins.

But ccording to @Bonkers0801 , Kefi's market value won't change significantly until production starts, assuming there are no other major developments.

Someone please explain this logic to me.

At around 46min in the interview with Chancery Royalty Jeff said:

"We are looking at a number of opportunities right now, we get into it pretty quickly, stright-up drill targets, very easy to fast track discovery an then to get to a resource"

Of course they will try with Jeff to locate new targets to increase the resource. Hopefully close to the existing mine s that the same infrastructure can be used.

I just watched the video with Harry and Jeff Rayner.

It looks like Jeff is starting up again at Kefi to make new discoveries and drill new holes for Kefi.

Someone has any idea for what they need this extra 10 million USD?
