Good comparison Wbl.
In the early days at GGP before Havieron, when they were prospecting at Earnest Giles, the general view was in Australia all the easy (relative) outcrop or near surface discoveries had been made, the next big discovery was going to come from undercover (ie geophysics aside, no indication at surface).
A debate ensued, increased costs, depth of drilling, risk, the likelihood of success etc, but GGP persevered and later proved their worth with some outstanding intercepts and grades at Havieron.
The rest is history with GGP attaining a m/cap of around £1.5Bn from memory. This was new and no one knew how big this could be.
The similarity between GGP and Oriole is they are/were both in uncharted territory. Cameroon has had near zero exploration. It is in the heart of Africa. No one knows what's there but if it is there, the team at Oriole will find it. It only takes one good drill result for the door to open wide for any possibility as it did for GGP at Havieron.
