I have noticed the executive interactions with my LinkedIn posts steadily rising. Hopefully some of our directors are waking up to the reality their fiduciary duty to shareholders have been neglected in the past and are threatening to be repeated in the present.

I purposefully tagged some of our directors 'other' board positions (i.e. Eldorado etc.) in hopes the threat of getting a bad reputation in the mining industry would spur some to action.

First, I'd like to answer Candid's yes or no question although it wasn't directed to me. YES. Centamin should never have wasted those BF gold resources as they have value. All that exploration and drilling that never got officially recognized/converted to a reserve - why? Altair hopes to have it done within months without drilling a single meter based on hundreds of thousands of meters Centamin drilled & logged. Is it too late to change the past? Yes. But it's not too late to extract value from Batie West - or at least I HOPE it's not too late. The point of posting the following on LinkedIn was to try and instill an urgency to the board of directors that a deal must get done. Relinquishing** or forfeiting** or having the gold reserve confiscated** is not an option for a competent board. Another question Candid asked was my opinion of Centamin's current board - my answer is 'insufficient data'. But that will change based on the outcome of Batie.

Local Egyptian billionaire, Naguib Sawiris, owner of AKH Gold, had one investment that initiated Egypt’s gold boom. Sawiris’s investment brought $4.1 million in USD to the region for investing in gold mining. These funds allowed for more contracts for workers with increased pay.

Gold Production and Export Contribution to Jobs

The primary mine in Egypt is the Sukari Mine. This mine opened in 2009 and started operations with a minimum of 850 workers. This number remains stable, but with Egypt’s decrease in gold exports, there is concern about employment availability.

The Sukari Mine is owned and operated by Centamin, a “mineral exploration, development, and mining company.” Centamin was founded in 1970, and as of 2021, employs more than 3,000 people. The lowest salary recorded for a current Centamin position is 4,000 Egyptian pounds, slightly more than 250 USD a month. Estimating with 4.5 weeks in a month, five days in a workweek, and eight hour days, 250 USD a month means that some Centamin employees live fifteen cents above the extreme poverty level, at 1.40 USD per day. Prospects for salary improvements were good between 2018-2020, but since Egypt’s decrease in gold exports, the funds are likely to tighten and threaten more workers with extreme poverty.

Compared to the last decade the speed at which the EMRA has made its latest move (i.e. awarding Shalateen PRIME concessions next to Sukari) may indicate a force greater than Centamin has spurned them to act FAST.

Any thoughts as to who(m) or what THAT force might be are welcome!

There are two separate BF issues regarding forfeiture of concessions & assets.

The first is a lost cause because Centamin already forfeited these (we just learned) about two years ago - Mr Horgan spoke of it briefly on the last quarterlies (it's at the 50 minute mark if you want to hear it)

Specifics:
- Altair Resources signed a binding agreement for a 90% ownership and 10% Burkina Faso Government ownership for an open pit, 3 deposit, gold exploration project containing 1,388,120 oz of gold (Historic Estimate) at an average grade of 0.95 g/t (COG @ 0.5 g/t).

- The 3 deposits are located in the south west of the country and 35km from Centamin’s Konkera project of 3.1M oz.

- The project is located in the safest area of Burkina Faso, a mining friendly jurisdiction.
Altair has commissioned a NI 43-101 Resource Estimate and completion is expected late 2021 or early 2022. This will be followed by a PEA.

- 387,596 m of drilling & 294,504 core samples completed from 3 deposits.

The second is in regards to the currently held Batie West deposit (which is an exploitation concession - i.e. permitted ready to mine) which is about to expire in November 2021. You are correct in pointing out Centamin has decided not to develop the Batie deposit by themselves and have stated they may want a partner or simply divest it.

By all means I agree with this plan - the trouble is if they wait much longer the only option remaining will be letting the permits permanently expire - which I suggest isn't the smartest path forward. I'd hate to think Centamin's board are waiting this long because they're a) too busy or b) figure it's not worth the effort - as as some current shareholders also seem to think.

Be that as it may, I'm not satisfied that the board is keeping shareholders in the loop as to what the current status of Batie West is and I would like to know all avenues are being pursued to sell/develop before we forfeit said assets, again.

So to recap - tens of millions (more probably hundreds of millions) of potential value has already been lost to Altair and a greater amount stands to be lost (to who knows, maybe Endeavour ?) if Centamin's board of directors don't negotiate a deal very, very soon.

Loads of people from Centamin had a looksee - perhaps as expected BUT new to the party is Endeavour Mining - not a positive sign in my book. I very much want Dear Uncle Sawiris to keep his bloody distance!

Have issued their puppet mining company Shalateen some prime gold exploration land directly south and north of Sukari.

Questions:
1) Shalateen has done nothing for decades - what has changed that they should be given concessions without a bidding process?

2) Is this in anticipation of co-working with Centamin due to the fact any gold on Shalateen's land could bypass the new tax & royalty scheme in favor of the old 50/50 profit split as long as the Sukari plant is doing the processing?

CAIRO – 1 November 2021: The House of Representative passed 10 draft laws on Monday regarding gold and mineral exploration and traffic.

Seven draft laws have been passed on licensing the Minister of Petroleum to explore for gold and minerals in the Eastern Desert.

The minimum age for riding a motorbike has decreased from 18 to 16 years old per an amendment approved by the House of Representatives.

Gold mining

The draft laws all allow the minister of petroleum to contract out excavation to the Egyptian Mineral Resources Authority and Shalateen Mineral Resources Company. The laws specify the locations in the Eastern Desert as Alaqy Valley, Om Jrayat, Fatiry, Hamata, Hanjaliya, Om Oud, Otoud, Baramiya, Eiqat Mount, Jarf Mount, Maseeh Mount, Elba Mount, and Aswan area.

Sukari gold mine is the Eastern Desert’s most famous mine, and it is excavated by Australian company Centamin. In 2020, Sukari produced 452,320 ounces of gold. excess of 4Moz of gold, generating $1 billion free cash flow, according to Centamin’s website.

In July 2021, Egypt signed four contracts with Centamin and Canada’s B2Gold to explore for gold in the Eastern Desert. It also signed four other contracts with Canada-based Barrick Gold corporation, the world’s second largest gold excavator. Other companies, including Egyptian companies, also won concession in a 2020 tender.

The Eastern Desert is known to be a vast untapped resource of gold and other minerals such as copper.

Egyptian House Of Representatives approves that Shalateen deal with the EMRA today. The locations are not a mystery but just how Shalateen will remain involved is another question. I can't see Shalateen operating outside the commercial framework the EMRA has finally established with the likes of Barrick & Centamin - so the question who will finance Shalateen's exploration? And what does Shalateen offer besides the physical location?

Something else to consider, now that B2Gold has sold its last remaining Burkina Faso concession to WAF some might see this as an unwillingness to invest in 'dangerous' jurisdictions but according to a recent presentation (yesterday actually) at The Canada-Africa Chamber of Business Conference B2Gold has reiterated the company's long term commitment to West Africa.
