I was reading an article about why luxury clothing, handbags and shoes etc have not been doing so great.

It basically said it is because the cheap dupe look a likes are everywhere so the wealthy are not differentiated buying the real stuff.

Hence why now they are buying cars with custom options. It is not a status or look that can be copied.

This is why Ferrari's results were so good, all the custom extras despite sales not improving.

Aston have both improved sales and customisation revenue.
