Our live Investing Matters Podcast Special which took place at the Master Investor Show discussing 'How undervalued is the UK stock market?', has just been released. Listen here.
So why the steep SP fall then?
My elderly father notionally owns over 4,500 shares still. Or does he: what can he do with them?
What's going on??!
Gambled a lot here last year / this year, gone up in smoke as we all know. Switched off as regards following this board, the internet on COPL generally for a few months. Might anyone, please ... to help cut through the wishful thinking and mud slinging in this forum ... kindly recap on where things are. Where I left of, (1) JV 'by the end of the month', and (2) endless excuses about weather or pipes furring. Have I missed anything, and has anything happened on (1) and (2)??
Because its a catchy name, or ...?
AGMs are always a flop. Its a legal formality. You've more chance of learning, at an AGM, what brand of teabag the directors prefer than anything substantive. Holds true for any company whether it be a two man window cleaning business or BP.
Hard to know if that chap has bought back in, in a big way, or reduced his holding from 3.39% 2.5 years ago!?
Presumably that's a very good omen? The share give away being priced at around twice the current SP? Or am I showing my novice RNS interpretation skills?
But how do they do that? Are all trades by anyone anywhere directed through them, or are they in effect just like you or me but given (by London Stock Exchange rules) a large float of cash and/or shares and certain rules or powers to help keep the market amongst the rest of us generally oiled and active as best they can?
Hmmm. I do wonder about the MMs. They often get a mention, but so hard to understand what they do and how they do it. I've heard talk of them being able to see people's Buy / Sell Limit orders, for example? Or is that what so-called Level 2 access, available to anyone for a fee, does?
Why does this site change your text after you've posted. I definitely said I'm keepING the faith ...
I'm keep the faith in Paul Johnson and POW. I've been a bit spooked, must admit, by the dropping SP but when you look at the trades then (a) there's hardly any, and (b) they're crazily low quantity. So its meaningless, and we await a return to normality.
Does anyone know what this company does any more? Confess, with now some regret, I sold out and lost 50% of my initial investment at just over 10 the other week on what I thought was a little gentle blip of a spike. Then it shoots up! But were we all waiting for results of fracking for oil/gas, but when that drifted into oblivion someone wiped the website of any obvious detail on that, and dreamt up the carbon capture idea, about which there's little to no detail on the website and now the share price bobs around depending on Tweets as to the Chief Executive travel plans. That's why I sold out, scared from recent COPL disasters. Far too wishy washy rudderless and with no apparent product. What is the real angle or here, longer term (or for this month, until the next brainwave comes along)?
How do we know the promised uranium price surge will take off any more than the promised late 2022 gold/silver/commodities increase - and which flew as well as a soggy firework?
Can you remind us how to do that?
I off loaded c.£14,000 worth as I wanted the cash. Unfortunately pushed the price down against myself in the process. Still got more as a hold, and believe PJ's recent video line about "no one project will sink us but any one project could make us". Encouraged that SP recovered slightly late on.
What do know of the bond holder's (and other's , if any) first claim on revenue as per recent "money retained by COPL America" type comments here, as regards longstop dates, amounts, ratios or whatever facts and figures, so we may assess true prospects for seemingly presently "locked out of the party" shareholders?
Well, must say im confused.
The Prospectus/fund raise by way of issuing further shares now seems like those further shares have already been issued over the last 14 months (says latest RNS). So where does that leave the extra further money raise? Is that also historic and spent, or now new cash in COPL's pocket, and if the latter where has that come from?
Not sure what AlbertaOil's smoking but, yeah, ok, so I stand corrected, an approx, 50% increase in shares not 100% and therefore an expected other things being equal c.33% fall in share price from recent c.16p to say 10p ... except (so I also thought) a hoped for raise of c.£15m. Numbers approximate .... broad intention of the recent RNS / Prospectus was exactly that AND those new shares were to be admitted to the market 8:00am this morning. So the question remains, for AlbertaOil or indeed anyone with a clearer head ... what was the outcome of that fund raise and new share issue? Lack of evidence/announcement seems deafening to me.
So the c.£15m fund raise and doubling of shares in issue, that were to be admitted to the market today, came to ....[what]?
