President Joe Biden is preparing to announce a release of oil from the nation’s Strategic Petroleum Reserve in concert with several other countries as soon as Tuesday, according to people familiar with the plan, Bloomberg News reports.
The move, likely in conjunction with India, Japan and South Korea, would be an unprecedented effort by major oil consumers to tame prices after OPEC+ countries rebuffed U.S. calls to significantly boost production. China said it’s working to release some oil from its strategic reserves, days after the U.S. invited it to participate in a joint sale.

@Sund, the US opening should be good, the US are reporting 20 million passengers using US airports in the next 10 days for the thanksgiving period..

.. in all seriousness, there is no reason why the SP cannot start challenging higher range bound prices..
RIP Citadel, l am not sure they will be reshorting at higher levels..!
...okay a little rampish...
wow, that has come out of the blue...!
@Sund, yes they secured their extra funding if needed 3 weeks ago...
Virgin Atlantic CEO Shai Weiss replied he wouldn't announce one first on TV, but it suggested it was a current option...
part of a Virgin IPO perhaps..? on the day the US opened the first question the Bloomberg anchor Guy Johnson asked the Virgin CEO: "when is there going to be a Virgin IPO..?"
UK strategy for covid looks like has found favour with IAG...
l cannot help thinking is this the bitter pill with covid in Europe and pockets of necessary lockdowns are better in the long run, 10 and 20 days seem more of a wake up call for vaccinations and coping with covid going forwards...
Jtan, opted for induction in the end, l liked gas for expected quickness but with induction l think they are going to be so much quicker now, gas pressure could be variable and not so reliable in the end...
@sunsurfer, @BB, induction hob on order... bosch, nice...
..or were in..!
@Taverham, wow thank you for the info that is a crazy number..!
I am not sure l can tell her that, l not sure she could handle that level of danger we could have been in…
Thanks Y11, I don’t know if it would have made a difference as the gas wasn’t lit in the first place, but l will investigate.. :)
It has been my first decent night sleep in a while and my step son came home drunk and knocked the gas knob on the hob, my wife woke up because she could smell the gas from upstairs while asleep and at the same time my step son realised he could hear gas and then couldn’t turn off the gas as it might have been stuck opened but it had been on a while... l wasn’t too worried but she had a shock of her life, we are at different ends of the worry spectrum, when she woke me and l had gone downstairs the drama had been adverted.. she was particularly worried because we have got 3 younger kids asleep in their bedrooms…
…anyway, that is why lam asking silly questions this early on a Sunday morning, but l would be interested in any answers…
…thanks in advance
How to value IAG, although I’m not a fundamental investor, I like to pose a question to those who are:
What is the lowest price you would set accept for your IAG share with the formula of how you got to that price and/or as an IPO what price range would you keenly set the price at?
