Looking Back:
reading tweets of the CEO of UK's Largest travel agents on twitter, travel agents only get paid when passengers depart, so no income for bookings months ahead...
EZJ's rights issue 8th/9th September, a month ago today and a week before IAG's share price reversal.. this was before any good news of any kind...
now flying destinations will open up massively tomorrow and with no fear of any financial distress at least up to Q3 -November 5th... dare l say it:
are we out of the woods..?
Higher highs and higher lows are printing on the technicals...

Key takeaways for me:
one thing for sure, if the US need to increase employment rates they will need a fully open economy, opening up the international travel sector makes a lot of sense..
the largest change in employment, Air Transportation + 47,300
the US's problem is they are not at full employment from prepandemic, maybe 70%
..just to point out Sept & August general momentum was to the downside, today it is to the upside...
Non-Farm Payrolls today, you might think what effect does it have here but it affects the general market and therefore us as well, last September it had an effect (a sell off), it rallied back the coming days then sold off again, and August (a rally), it rallied before selling off.. so expect to see price movement prior and on the announcement, although short term they add volatility and could add weight to the trend direction in longer-term as a lot of positions get adjusted on this news event, so lets see what happens...
l don't know more than this but it is based on my observations last September.. l didn't think we would have been impacted but we were...
l don't know more than this, so l cannot offer any more insight but it might help explain a muted morning..
l am only posting this as it is something on my mind and l am just as much an observer on this to see how we are affected...

Sorry that should have read all in EZJ nursing a losing position…
The problem with BB is a framing issue, it is quite logical to frame the question and to fit the conclusion to the bias, it is quite clear that if he is in EZJ and not a paid deramper (because nothing else makes sense) then his cognitive decision making is influenced by the the fact that he is over invested in the wrong stock and cannot make an unbiased decision…
The framing effect is a cognitive bias where people decide on options based on whether the options are presented with positive or negative connotations; e.g. as a loss or as a gain. People tend to avoid risk when a positive frame is presented but seek risks when a negative frame is presented. Wikipedia
What do you say @Teddy100, is 176 the new 136, IYO, or is that too much to expect..?

No confirmation on date but confirmed Day 2 PCR test will be replaced with cheaper lateral flow test followed by a FREE PCR if positive, reducing the cost of tests on arrival into England. Passengers to send a pic of LFD test and govt hoping to have in place for half term. ??

Relaxation of travel rules is unlocking demand for overseas trips, says Skyscanner
Flight comparison website Skyscanner has seen demand surge for international travel following the recent relaxation to UK rules. Its findings include:
Over 60% increase in weekly booking volumes from the UK since mid-August.
Since the last government announcement on September 17, the most booked holiday hotspots for UK travellers are Spain, the US, Turkey, Italy and the UAE.
When the last changes were announced on the September 17, daily bookings for Turkey (which was removed from the red list) rose by 635%.
Martin Nolan, traveller rights expert at Skyscanner, said:
UK travellers have been longing to return to travel throughout the pandemic, the recent simplification of rules and many new additions to the quarantine free travel list has really changed perceptions. As a result of the recent changes to the traffic light lists, countries like Turkey, the Maldives and Mauritius saw exponential rises in interest, pointing to the fact that travellers are responding to any new changes and beginning to look further afield as winter approaches.
The news is also driving confidence, with our data showing that travellers are now looking further ahead and making plans for the festive season and into 2022. Travellers are starting to think about, and act on, breaks to sunnier climes, family reunions, honeymoons and more. It’s great to see the UK embrace exploring the world once again.
l would have thought we would have had a better day so far with news due today, demand seems to be there..

In anticipation of the expected red list announcement from the UK Government today, Opodo can confirm evidence of a significant upturn in searches for destinations widely expected to be affected indicating real consumer appetite to travel more widely.
Between Friday, October 1, and midnight on Wednesday, October 6, UK consumer searches for travel to Brazil were up 184 per cent on the previous week (and 276 per cent up on the same period in September). Searches to South Africa in the week from October 1 increased by 163 per cent compared to the week before, and by 327 per cent compared to the same week in September.

'South Africa’s position on the red list has been an anomaly since July'
South Africa's Government and tourism industry have been pushing for its removal from the red list for months. A petition against its spot in the hotel quarantine category has gathered over 39,600 signatures.
Positive data alongside a meeting between UK and South African government scientific experts last week could signal its removal in today's announcement.
