It’s not one or the other. Whereas one will always need a test if they’re suspected of having a covid-19 like symptoms, eg fever, coughing etc... but they don’t necessarily need a vaccine if those symptoms happen to be of the flu. Therefore a test must be administered first, if only not to give a vaccine unnecessarily and cause side effects to an otherwise healthy patient. More importantly (from a government point of view), vaccine cost at least x20 more than a test, given the huge discrepancy in terms of money and time scale involved in their production.

The competitive advantage of Avacta test, because of it being affirmers based, is very cheap and faster to produce than the antibodies type, not to mention excellent specificity, as per Avacta’s website re covid-19:

“Although antibodies have shown to be effective reagents in this type of immunodiagnostic assay, they have well-documented limitations, including high cost, time to manufacture, and poor specificity against certain targets, with some targets too difficult to generate antibodies for using traditional processes. themuir01, even if Moderna wouldn’t mention Avacta, they would certainly mention all their products development current and future ones. Therefore we could join the dots and see the one (s???) related to avacta. I’m not the Americans would though....some of them think Iraq borders their countries, serious- I think of all it was Ms America if I recall correctly, lol.

Since both Bill Gate and Amazon Bezos (for his staff, see below) are getting involved in tackling the coronavirus, do you think our CEO when stating AVCT are talking to other global parties, he may have had in mind Gate and Bezof, as well as other pharmas of course- just a thought???

Can you imagine a tie up with Amazon with its global distributions network and the sale they will generate on mass scale? Surely Bezos should be very keen, it’s the nature of his business....plus would be so keen to play his humanitarian bit being $150 billions worth, and if only to undo the recent scandal about Amazon forcing staff to work overtime. Same goes for Gate he clearly is involved in helping globally and would want charitable work globally to be his pinacles. Maybe we should email our CEO to get in touch with them, lol ......if he hasn’t already.....

Surely with avct saliva based test being just “ the pregnancy test”, would interest Amazon more than building their own lab.....but even so we’ll supply them with the test as AVCT test works on multi platforms labs:

Tils will almost definitely delist from Aim by the end of Q2, irrespective of the coronavirus virus. There R&D is in the US, not here.....and the chairman is fed up of aim valuation of the company as he expressed it clearly in the interview in favour of the US. On Nasdaq Tils will more than double on the 1st day.

wolves2211, I’m in Tils, Nyct sng and AVCT......but I believe AVCT has the best potential- it’s very obvious a test of 10 minutes to be produced for the masses on a global scale. Bill Gate has been calling for such test and I’ve read somewhere his charity is putting $125 million towards the fight against the coronavirus....will search it and post it.

70% of my profit from nyct (got in at 46p and added at 51p) is invested now in avct . I believe most ncyt investors will top slice and flock here soon after the sale updates expected anyway now. Some posters have already done so. Ncyt taught us to be little greedy, going for mutibagging stocks, lol.

....not to mention the disruptive technologies of affirmers cancer treatments in the medium to long term.

Considering the several high buys on Thursday, I’d expect the so to do well today and the rest of the week. Also we should, imo, received an update this week more likely, given actava staff working all these 4 days and the ceo saying they are talking to other parties for the test. I’d also expect them to be working the rest of weekends until they produce the produce. This would lead to having it ready well before end of May. Not only it will generate much needed income and beat the competition - at the moment none- but im sure the staff would feel it, moral imperative considering the tragedy engulfing the country and the world at large, particularly when we see the brave NHS staff putting their lives in danger eg those retired who went back to help.

As someone said better to under promise and over achieve, so end May would absolute maximum, imo.

Cytiva, a $3.3 billion co bought by $100 billions Danaher Corporation from GE, and responsible for 75% of of all DFA approvals in 2019, wouldn’t team with Avacta if they didn’t see value in it. They have plenty of money and great reputation to risk it, yet on Friday they announced their jv with avacta on their website. This leads me to think the test prototype has already been checked by Cytiva. Plus Cytiva operates in over 40 countries across all continents, which enable world wide distributions of the test.

Further, given their record FDA approvals cited above, Cytiva being a big US co, FDA approval of Avacta test would be a little more than rubber stamped.

Dr Jose Saro said that, due to their "simple structure", Affimer proteins could be formatted to deliver the "right" characteristics required for the next generation of immuno-oncology therapeutics.

"There are many opportunities for such a platform technology, and the recent collaboration with Tufts University Medical School is one example of a potentially game changing approach that is possible with Affimers.

Avacta Chef Medical Officer Jose Saro held senior posts with 3 of the top 10 pharma: Roche (just before joining avacta), Bristol Myers Squibb, and Norvatis....as well as the Japanese Eisai, and the US Wyeth which was bought by Pzifer for $68 billion.

I don’t think with such credentials Mr Saro would ‘demote’ himself joining Avacta, but rather he must have wanted to reach his pinacles by joining a revolutionary biotech co with disruptive IP with its affirmers drug delivery technologies for novel cancer treatments, as he allude to it below:

(Sharecast News) - Biotherapeutic development company Avacta Group announced on Wednesday that Dr Jose Saro has been appointed as its chief medical officer, to lead its therapeutic development strategy and drive the in-house programmes into the clinic.

The AIM-traded firm said Dr Saro would bring more than 20 years of experience in the pre-clinical, translational and early clinical development of oncology assets, spanning small molecules, biologics and drug conjugates.

Dr Saro was joining Avacta from Roche, where he held the role of senior translational medicine leader at the Roche Innovation Center Zurich, in which he focussed on immuno-oncology and the development of combination products.

Prior to his position at Roche, Dr Saro was executive director of oncology global development and medical affairs at Bristol Myers Squibb, based in Paris, where he led and contributed to a number of oncology clinical development programmes, including Sprycel, Ipilimumab (Yervoy anti-CTLA4), Nivolumab (anti-PD1), anti-PDL1, anti KIR, anti LAG3, Brivanib, MEK inhibitor and Elotuzumab.
Previously, Dr Saro was executive director of translational medicine and early clinical development oncology at Novartis.

Prior to that, he held senior positions at Eisai, and Wyeth.

Avacta said Dr Saro also had experience of the small biotech environment, having spent several years as vice president of oncology clinical development at PharmaMar, an oncology-focussed biotech.

There, he was head of clinical research and development teams, comprising around 45 people, located in both Madrid and Boston, Massachusetts.

"I am delighted that Dr Jose Saro is joining Avacta to lead the therapeutic development strategy and to drive the in-house 'Affimer' programmes into the clinic," said chief executive officer Alastair Smith.

"His extensive experience in developing pre-clinical assets and translating those into clinical development will be an invaluable asset to Avacta."

Smith said Dr Saro was joining Avacta at a "hugely exciting" time as it progressed towards the first Affimer clinical studies, which would be a "significant" value inflection point for both the technology and group.

"We very much look forward to working with Jose on our established programmes and on leveraging his knowledge to expand the pipeline of innovative and valuable immuno-oncology assets for the future."
