RE: Rns with near 20% increase2 Sep 2020 09:18
When analysing business financials, most businesses compare current figures with previous year figures. This gives you a reasonable answer as to how your business is performing. However, if you have abnormal occurrences or costs during a reporting period, it is normal to strip this out and report a maintainable EBITDA. This is how you are really performing.
BMN produced 1649 mtv during the H1 period, an increase of 18% on the previous year. They state that they lost 380 mtv due to the Covid shutdown. If you add this back to actual production then the increase in productivity compared to the H1 2019 is 45%! That is how I measure performance and progression. Also, remember that they used the shutdown to complete essential maintenance so if we assume no further Covid shutdowns then H2 should be very strong indeed. Very pleased indeed with the results. I would be very surprised if we do not see a re-rating very soon. Colt45
