Friend of NCCL and main man at the EDM wants access to electricity fo all in Moz by 2030. The company needs to ensure 350,000 new connections a year throughout the country to comply with the plan. Doesn't sound like the EDM are going to be putting the blockers on any plans to connect to the grid. Tariff ? What tariff
https://mozambiqueminingpost.com/2018/05/03/mozambique-energy-electricity-for-all-to-cost-6-6-billion/
Have we forgotten the move to remove VAT on all foreign funded projects ? This move by the moz government was to help speed current projects along and to encourage new future projects. It becomes a counter productive move if they start jerking GE and CMEC around now regarding the tariff. We also know the issues regarding the reliance on hydro power in the region, the driest spell in 35 years I think. So again why delay getting the electricity to the grid. Thirdly this project will generate billions in tax receipts. Why would the gov delay getting they hands on this cash And finally have we forgotten that many of the key decision makers at the EDM have worked with and consulted with NCCL in the past , this chap for example, he is the director of the EDM. http://www.edm.co.mz/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=97%3Aengo-carlos-alberto- yum&catid=57%3Aconselho-de-administracao&Itemid=60&lang Below placing price ? Don't make me laugh
It would appear my original post was deleted . Truth hurts hey Any how below is a link to the top dog at the EDM , you know the folk signing off the tariff. He only helped consult on the Ncondezi project during 11-14. It's well know he is a friend of NCCL Hardly going to want to see this one fail is he http://www.edm.co.mz/index.php?option=com_content&view=category&layout=blog&id=37&Itemid=27&lang=en
I know I mentioned Carlos Yum yesterday and that he played a large part in getting the Ncondezi project off of the ground. What I didn't realise was that he is actually the interim chair of directors at the EDM. Wow http://www.edm.co.mz/index.php?option=com_content&view=category&layout=blog&id=37&Itemid=27&lang=en He is hardly going to want to see this one fail
Also now the more I search the more the project is being referred to as 600mw. A report from Nov of last year details this very fact. Could this be our curveball ? Double the power = double the cash
Nice to see the NCCL twitter account retweeting the presidents comments regarding the building of a coal to power plant in tete. Get buying people this is now ridiculously cheap
According to source watch there are three coal power station plant projects in the area, NCCL being one and the most advanced. The other two appear to have been shelved
*just checked
Just the local gov, national gov and the edm plans and guess what??? No other plans for coal power stations other than the one proposed by Ncondezi
Laxey I could kick myself for missing that article. How did that one slip though the our twitter net ? Incredible find
Of course they want to scale up CF. Its a win win , supply your own grid and then sell the surplus to a neighbour.
Doesn't it just mate.
Nyusi (Moz president) said that a coal fired power station will be built in Tete province, plus a new transmission line interconnecting the Mozambican and Zambian Wherever might that coal fired power station be Laxey ????? I know of plans only for one

They are tiddly (beer money) trades, not the trades of those with decent positions heading for the exit door.

All in agreement then update next Friday at the latest. What it contains who knows That was easy to settle
Gods we all know at the very least/latest the next update from the company will be next Friday. Results always include a highlights section so I would expect some sort of update regarding the tariff negotiations. At the very least just saying the tariff has been submitted and fist meetings have taken place (which according to the podcast should of been Monday of this week)
