Ha, it may come to that SBP....is it a peaky blinders convention then?!
You would hope so minted and that is the only hope we have for them keeping Nuog affloat. LB I like that idea....Bill, are you reading? I know you're attending and know you're onside with the logic of stopping the 'something for nothing' approach at Nuog.....how would you feel about being nominated in the way YT has described??
Minted, in an ideal world I would agree with you but we don't want another OO scenario where we are the ones who end up suffering again. If we kick back with something like that then they could just decide that Nuog isn't worth the hassle to MFDev and begin winding it up. Disgusting that we're in this precarious situation but as LB said, Minty has played a blinder here....
Is there anything around the relationship with Novum we could put forward? It seems about as toxic as the Beaufort relationship.....
That idea poses similar problems to the current OO minted....limits them but only partially and mostly just causes logistical issues for moving the company forward imo
"Deferred salary or a percentage of salaries paid via shares etc."
I would back either of these, good call.
I disagree as well Wob lol but it would be nice to see their faces if it got tabled as a possibility! So how do we communicate it and where does it leave the proxy vote? Other than a shooting in foot exercise to show our displeasure by voting against, it basically means they score first blood (millionth blood) by passing the resolution.
Agree Wob...can we agree one or two from that list to get some momentum behind it? How do we represent the caveat(s) via proxy or are we dependent on those present?
That's an interesting one minted...thoughts anyone? Possibly could put them into administration sooner rather than later lol but in for a penny in for a pound?! Any other less risky ideas?
I think we need to be clear about what we're trying to achieve though so that we don't end up with another OO scenario with right intentions and wrong outcome. Imo if we vote no then it has to be with some other purpose else in mind rather than simply retaining the OO and showing the BOD our displeasure.
True YT and in all honesty I'm not even in favour of the OO, more what it represents in terms of trying to hold them to account. It isn't fit for purpose in that respect unfortunately so I'm trying to work out if there's a way of coming up with an alternative that they would have to swallow in exchange for us passing the resolution. Presumably if someone tabled a pre-agreed alternative on the day and a majority supported the amendment then the undertaking would have to be put in black & white subsequently, in the same way the OO was?
Minted's right that Nuog set the date for this and if there turns out to be no tangible reason for it then I hope those present at the meeting go bl*ody mental. There is a very small glimmer of hope that the delay in some of us receiving the proxy notification is because they don't want people to vote until news is out....I'm almost laughing at myself for giving them that much credit after so many false dawns, but as a holder I do at least have to try and look for the positives, increasingly sparse though they are...
Is there seriously nothing we can do about it? I know for a fact from reading these boards that Nuog holders aren't a bunch of morons....do we still have time to be a bit creative and pass the motion subject to some pretty onerous caveats?
LB, that makes for a depressing read from a true LTH......I sincerely hope they prove all of us wrong although even if they do, it doesn't excuse the millions they've had to date and the stark contrast between the suffering they've inflicted on shareholders and the minimal impact on their own lives, in fact the opposite as they've lived the life of riley throughout as far as we can tell.
If it is you Roy then I have to say I preferred you as Roy....a bit more balanced rather than out and out negative! The question is who got you banned? You may have been getting gradually more sceptical but tbh so am I these days and I don't like the Trump approach of only listening to yes men....if you aren't minted and you're still around then feel free to say hello again!
Where is Roy these days...is he minted by any chance?!
I suspect they believe they know more than others, Wob, the question is whether they are being led a merry dance again as before, in which case the joke's on them even more than the rest of us. We live in hope but I'm the same as you, I want to see something in black and white even though I don't even see the OO as serving the intended purpose.
AM must read these posts from large holders and look to the skies in thanks at the blessed life he has been given. Not only does he get £40m and the lifestyle to go with it for producing absolutely zero, nada, his shareholders continue to roll over regardless of any action taken by the company.
Alan: 'We still haven't produced anything, diddly squat but do you think the shareholders would be up for letting us have more money, completely unchecked?'
Graham: 'Judging by what you've managed to milk from them so far Alan, I'd say the large holders will not only say yes but will also carry the can for you on the discussion boards. Btw, do I put my car order in now?'
I wasn't there for the inspirational OO idea and certainly don't think it's the answer to shareholder woes, however, what sort of message does it send to the company when the two largest holders not only roll over before finding out if there is any actual reason for the timing behind the GM, but also decide to broadcast their decision all over the discussion boards? Oh how I wish our largest holders weren't PIs....
Sensible hypotheses Wob, although if the first one transpires then I won't be flooding these boards mainshare, I'll be flooding Minty Towers, quite literally.
FFS why do they have to take it to the wire yet again...
I'd love to apply the same logic Wob but it's exactly what we thought last time and they must have been rolling around with laughter reading all the excitement and speculation on these boards, in full knowledge they were going to the AGM with zero progress.
You would very much hope they wouldn't be calling a GM to remove the only (and very thin) safety net we have without any justification or good news. Yet, like you, I feel that this lot are so contrary I wouldn't put it past them just setting the meeting and assuming that we would understand perfectly and duly follow suit without any specifics again.
I sincerely hope your gut is on the money....we still have a couple of days I guess. If nothing else, they'll have to show their hand in some capacity by calling this meeting, so I suppose that's one positive to take from it.
As for those selling whilst ramping, the question is who was slipping them the true picture?
Wob, WW, Rog, what are your thoughts? You're about the only ones from the Twitter group who I don't see as mindlessly pedalling the same rampy posts as the pre-AGM ramp. Just like now the same people were saying news had to drop before the AGM and how they wouldn't dare hold the AGM without some kind of positive news beforehand. Here we are again and history is repeating itself but I note Wob that you too seem to think news is going to drop and I wondered what you're basing it on....the volume certainly doesn't suggest the first deal in their history is about to drop?
I recall you had solid info before on an imminent deal and wondered if it's the same source? That isn't a dig as I think you've been a lot more objective than a few others here but just curious as to why you think it might be different this time? Cheers
