I have been on many buses/taxis in over 40 African countries. Jollyspeculator is an odd name for someone who appears to delight in shares going south.But to be fair to him as he announced he does not hold any lonr shares, we can perhaps understand his nature. What I find patronising is him telling Kibu "Allez au Secours" I do not need guidance from Kibu nor Jollynonspeculator who appears to be in awe of the aforementioned gentleman.

There's still some life in the driverless clapped out bus!!!! Maybe enough to leave under one's own volition rather than being chucked off.

There is no doubt that LONRHO has some difficulties to overcome and I take it on face value the statement from the current CEO when he says the balance sheet is "satisfactory" going forward. However there does come a time when promises must be seen to be delivered on. That time for me is this year.However in my opinion people like amb33 who state they were told "something" whether negative or positive have little credibility and they should use some other forum to spread their kindness and concern for people like oldtimer,finbarr,me and many more. Of course he is totally entitled to his opinion.

As the song goes "you cant have one without the other". I suspect because of the genesis of Fastjet the status quo will remain for sometime. We all hope therefore for Fastjet to succeed, but this is by no means certain and one is concerned about negative reports and the apparent hands off approach to date by Sir Stelios..

This is good common sense. Some of the other contributors today need to be reminded that when it comes to holding shares iin a company like Lonrho you are definately in for a rough ride. I also feel that some of the regular contributore fail to understand this Ultimately if the management is sound things will work out. I am not sure that the present board of Directors fit the bill but I am prepared for now to give Mr.White the benefit of the doubt until Q3 2013.Stick with it for now especially if selling puts you in the red.
