I'm holding Mara just now and figure the 1.5 bil atm from last time is enough for now. Let's hope they don't up the limit and perhaps release some investor friendly news instead.

Mara's results will eclipse CLSK's due to FASB giving them around $2 EPS. Makes sense for them to release pre-market based on this and looking bad vs MARA, however certainly wasn't expecting it and they should have given warning as their news item had said "Results will be released after the close of regular trading on May 9, 2024."

It seems that IREN is becoming the new CLSK and getting a lot of attention.

Fees are .1 to .2 just now, you can see it with your own eyes. If Runes pick up again then it changes and we see large fees, but for now you're looking at a 45%ish drop in revenue (in BTC terms - obviously BTC price jumps all over the place).

I still think they eek it out until Galaxy kicks them out, and I still think Bitcoin runs before then.

But will there be enough demand to close out the debt via a raise? It would have to be a pretty heated run.

There's no story for investors to get behind. Even QBT has a better story and will likely out-perform.

You're reliant on BTC mania for this to go up - which could well happen to be fair but they'll take any strength as a dilution opportunity.

Yeah because we've been watching everything so closely we tend to see all the issues - and there are many to be fair.

However if btc gets to 100k, then the $billion+ annualised projected revenues of the bigger players and bitcoin going to $1million rhetoric will kick in and we should get some fantasy valuations.

100 is the magic number for me as that in my eyes is peak attention from media/etc. I'll be looking to sell then - if it happens. Will sell some before then also just in case. No way do I want to hold another 4 years as I can't see many of the miners surviving a bear.

Wow I'm not sure someone would want to buy the site if there's truth to mercury leaks. Miners don't make good neighbours it seems.

Yeah price action all over the place, I had reduced my position beforehand due to unsettling price movements, and then dumped the remainder on the ATM news in the high 2's for a ~40% hit. Then it shot up again to $4 of course - although suspect from this news it's going to head back down. Won't touch it any further.

Tentatively I think BTC might run up again, and if it goes to 80 I'll probably re-balance again (but not SDIG).

Yeah I did have some SDIG but sold them at a loss on the ATM announcement. Cleanspark builds facilities at 350k per MW, while Bitdeer does them at 100 and something per MW (but they are containers).

However SDIG is an electricity producer though, so a bit different and you'd expect more per MW. Balance sheet has plant and equipment at 144mil but that might include miners at inflated value.

If they were able to sell for a good price maybe they could clear the debt and end up cash positive above mcap. However if it doesn't sell then bad news as you say.

SDIG has a hard sell as they are cleaning up these coal waste piles and seem to be doing a good job, but it's effectively dirty fuel that people don't want to be associated with.

Digihost, similar profile, no debt, own facilities - mined 85 last month, has cash of $6mil, but an mcap of $45mil. Either they are undervalued or Argo overvalued.

SDIG news interesting as I thought they would survive but it's looking like the mining is no longer viable.

Just shows what we already knew, the mining fundamentals will carry on getting harder and electricity cost and J/T ratings are key. Hopefully BTC picks up and the miners get a reprieve. Will be interesting to see what the CLSK and MARA earnings next week have to say - I bet at least one of them has a purchase announcement. Is Bitfarms a target? Guess we'll see.

There was a point when anything was possible but we're well past that now.

Main thing coming up is results that will look impressive due to FASB but may also be a non event like riot. Not a great day to release results today.

Yeah feels similar to part 2 of the last bull where it went just above ATH and that was it. Hopefully not the case this time.

Fed is in a tight spot and I really don't know what they will do. As you say the market has priced in one cut, which makes me think that the odds are slightly in favour of a bounce later on, but who knows.

Fed release also - which will likely have a big impact one way or the other.
