RE: Scum russian bots18 Feb 2023 14:25
I'm hoping it ends in an ABSOLUTE failure for Russia and Putin but I'm not sure it will. Ukraine is firing around 5k artillery rounds a day and the Russians around 20k a day. The Russian military industry seems strong and is ramping up production much faster than the West. FYI the 5k fired a day by Ukraine is quantity of artillery rounds NATO countries in East Europe produce in a year! The U.S can produce 13k 155mm artillery rounds a month and will boost it to 20k a month by late spring. NATO countries are seriously concerned for their own stockpiles of everything not just artillery rounds, if a conflict did kick off in which they had to directly intervene they have very little to sustain any war. Russians have lost through fatality and injury an unreal number of professional career soldiers and civilians quickly trained as "soldiers", what is never mentioned in western media is the same is true for Ukraine (at least 100k).
It should be noted the Ukrainians have not had one win in the East where Russia has had reasonable defensive positions apart from taking that chunk of land a few months back round Kharkiv when large number of Russian soldiers were rushed south and Ukrainians in huge numbers just casually drove in and took the area. The Russians having constantly been making the defensive positions stronger now and are probing Ukrainians positions to see where they are weakest for the spring offensive.
This will be the decisive year of the war, and I hope it ends as soon as possible so Ukraine can start rebuilding, bring normality for its citizens and Putin dies in the same manner as high opposition either by chemical agents or falling off a balcony.
I agree with Evan that has much lower to go, my only uncertainty is when too heavily top up as long term this is an excellent hold (subject to the various legal issues outstanding).
