The latest Investing Matters Podcast with Jean Roche, Co-Manager of Schroder UK Mid Cap Investment Trust has just been released. Listen here.
For those dreaming of the heady days of 11p, the average buy in price of all investors from the top 6 nominee accounts varies from 2.69p (HArgraves Landowne) to 2.42 (Barclays) ie most PIs are well under. I know there are exceptions e.g Sting who have lower averages and there a a few, like me. that made their money on the way down, by shorting or selling high but the fact remains that, as a rough guide, mid 2’s is a break even for most so expect turbulence if it ever reaches that price again.
Ok Oktane, I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt. As an experienced Options trader, you’ll know what a ‘Crazy Ivan’ denotes? Don’t bother looking it up, it’s an insider term. Let me know what it is and I’ll believe you.
Now I definitely smell bull****. Oktane is confusing mark to market options trading with options as part of a compensation package. The latter requires no reporting requirement whatsoever unless the options are exercised. Also, Unless I have missed something over the last 6 months, there seems to be an an assumption tht Ss has *voluntarily* sacrificed his salary for options? Where has this come from?
Hmm, call me cynical but an experienced Options trader wouldn’t bother with Aim, well, the ones I know wouldn’t. And quoting investopedia gives the game away. At least Delboy knew his stuff - nice try!
So you’re saying that Ss hasn’t bought any shares in his own company in the last 3+ yrs because of closed periods? Not really a coherent argument is it. As a potential investor I think it’s a good sign if the man in charge demonstrates confidence in his company by investing his own money. Not doing so is a red flag.
Oktane - nicely googled. As I stated however SS has not invested any of his own money in Ukog, bears no risk of a falling sp and therefore has no exposure. It’s been a massive red flag for years and still is. Weaseling your words makes no difference to this.
Thanks Sincero. Personally I feel v sorry for PIs here. I think you’ve been shafted by Ss once again. Its clear to me yesterday’s statement of being fully funded was based on today’s RNS. Why not just release one? Nevertheless, I hope some PIs managed to make a bit yesterday - atb.
Hmm, I wonder if Ukog put out a pump Rns today saying they were fully funded, based on the fact that the placing has already been signed off, just not Rns’d. If they did, then that is v. naughty of them. We shall see tomorrow. Hope people haven’t been duped. :)
