Loaf the decision this week was correct but bearing in mind the indirect taxes (NI/Business Rates etc) this government has increased on businesses the BOE should have been reducing rates about 2 months before they actually did to try and kickstart the economy. They all sat on their hands waiting. Don't forget any change in rates takes months to take any effect. This is nothing to do with house prices it's to do with business investment/new business start ups/ trying to input growth and investment. Unfortunately this government thinks it can tax it's way to balancing the books :) Rachel must have been off sick the week they covered this at Uni

Unfortunately the Government is only half the problem, the BOE have been constantly behind the curve over the past 9 months or so and should have reduced rates earlier. If you look at how the votes go at the meetings I sometimes wonder if they spend the morning in The Cross Keys Wetherspoons having a liquid breakfast

Carrington I totally agree but there is no point being the last man standing in a sector where you can't make money. This will recover in the long term but not until there is a complete change in the way hospitality is taxed/viewed. Hopefully the next government will deal with this long standing issue but I hold my breath.

As an example my local M&S and Aldi have gone totally self service, not one till. They are now saving on wages and government is losing out on revenue. Unfortunately pubs can't help having high labour costs which are guaranteed to increase every year with min wage increases. Good luck but Im Looking for a lower entry to start averaging in

Debt increased as well. The company share buyback does not look a good decision now. They must surely have known this was coming

Agree with your comments Gents as a long term recovery, however, short term I can see this losing another 10% from here and if no assistance from the government a possibility of revisiting last April's price. JDW needs this momentum to continue to come in just below last year. I can't see hospitality high enough on the agenda for this government and it's a long way off for a change.

I dumped these today and took a small loss on the chin. Just shows you how bad things are and even with increased sales debt has increased. Can't see things improving until a different approach is taken by government. Will be waiting on the sidelines for now, might be a long wait unless government steps in to help hospitality. GLA holders but I'm looking for a lot lower re entry.

I agree with everyone who's long here at some point in time the shorts will have to be closed and 10% is massive but personally I won't be switching until there is a race for the exit.
