Sooner or later Tim will have his cap out raising funds via equity. He's done it before and he'll need to do it again. Once he participates with a meaningful amount and not like the token gesture of the last fund raise it may be worth looking at.
Nuri, totally agree. Energy is fixed until 2023 and still can not make a profit, what happens when this expires and has to be renewed? Way too much debt here and not getting paid off, this is screaming rights issue at me.
Anyway back to vod rant over. Reason I like this sector is that all the networks are slowly closing 3g calling. Massive majority of people will need to upgrade in the next 2 years. Sim only swaps dont work. Vod has I believe the best network only problem is majority of people go on price until they realise what they could have
Very very strange times, billions paid out in furlough. Government using inflation to get the money back from covid. Maybe individual tax codes would have been better but lets face it we can even renew passports. Sat at home getting paid and businesses paid for not operating has to be paid for. Don't get me wrong what was done had to be done but the way they are getting the money back is disgraceful and killing pensioners, the vunerable etc. Best they can come up with is windfall on energy, in the meantime they collect the vat on increasing prices
Have just bailed myself after 5 years from initial 1st buy. Have exited flat taking into account divis over the years. I feel I can re enter ex divi a lot lower. Personally I think only way central banks can curb inflation is with inflation if you get what I mean. Also I believe they all needed inflation to rectify all the QE we have had for years
I've been adding here when it goes sub 220. I might be completely wrong but this all smells like positions are being built. Cycling and scooters is not where the money is. Car servicing and electric cars is where the money is. 2nd hand car market has been booming with no new vehicles. I personally think HFD will surprise the problem here always is the caution RNS that gets issued. Any thoughts anyone?
Radio, I agree. I was a long term holder but bailed out this am and took it on the chin following Netflix results. ITV I think could shoot themselves in the foot here and seriously reduce their terrestrial ad revenues. If Netflix move to reduced subscription with advertising ITV could come a serious cropper here. Prefer to wait now on the sidelines too much uncertainty for me especially with macro economic outlook.
No forward guidance in the RNS that could be a problem
ILike,
Think my options on AV are knackered thanks to the Russian Nutter! Infact I can possibly say that for all my options contracts. Diversification is key. Im still flat in the sell off thanks to some gainers in military and defensive. How's your options going?
Intersting way to return capital. My view is this I'm a long term invester. Im buying this and a lot of other shares since war broke out 2 weeks ago. I moved mainly into cash back in December waiting for the next black swan. My personal point of view is this is a little bit more prodictable than covid was. Golden rule is can you sleep at night with your position. GLA
Just filled me boots at £12.66 crazy price. GLA
ILike, are you still holding your AV calls? I just picked up some March Lloy 52s and Barc 195s this morning on weakness. Let's see what next week brings. STAN brought all the banks down a little. Good luck
ILike, snap thats exactly how I'm positioned and have been building since just before covid. My worry is when cost of living kicks in the first thing people may do is opt out of pension schemes to get more money in their pockets.
There have been a lot of remorgages and purchases over the past few years which were fixed so I think in 2 or so years time is when the bad loans will start to appear. It's a hard one to call but I'm feeling that gold could have a very good run over the next 2/3 years with rising inflation.
I think central banks will go fast to try and stop inflation, its the only real tool they have and stagflation will creep in.
ILike, your calls are still looking good. Hope you got a good price. AV looks to be holding strong. Personally I think stagflation is round the corner. What do you think? Everyone has had a nice run last couple of years maybe time to start to reallocate before the roulette wheel stops spinning with the QE?
I think with TLW it's the hedging that's holding them back. I agree with the travel stocks. I've steered clear of the usual and brought June call options in JetBlue. They have less debt on the books. Good Luck
