For supposed experts I don't think most of them know what they are doing / talking about when things are out of the norm. With my last dividend with ii they paid my holding in my ISA in � & my holding in ordinary account in $ When I queried this they told me it had to be this way and then told me I would have convert the $ one to � - and they happily charged me for this. At least this time it's clear - I haven't been paid either yet !

I don't think there is any reason other than the Chinese viewpoint of not needing to hurry, and not necessarily thinking short term ramp up of output is essential - it's a bit like the apocryphal saying of Premier Zhou to Richard Nixon about the impact of the French Revolution - when he replied it's too early to say'. So nothing sinister or underhand - just they are not an instant gratification thinking democracy. Just hope it's not a 200 year wait......!?!

The only total closed period is 60 days prior to results, but directors should work on a Model Code that means they have to put in writing to the rest of the board that they propose to deal in the companies shares and get tacit approval. If the deal as indicated is small or largely immaterial to the short term share price, then this is acceptable - the rules for insider dealing are not precise - but the word material or likely to influence the share price when not yet in the public domain are key - the current fairly flat price line probably says it all on this one.

The profile of Zinc looks good for certainly a year - as requirement fundamentals look good + previous closure of over capacity (a lot from Glencore) will take some time to come back on stream, however the Zone II licence saga has gone on about 4 years now - hence chairman's no promises - it really needs this to power it up to �2, otherwise a steady accumulator on this up cycle.

If you google 'investegate' - it gives you all stock exchange companies official announcements each day as released. If you put GFM - under the Epic/tidm tab at the top it will filter to just Griffin's postings. Alternatively Griffin's own web site will probably put it up pretty quickly.

The company has picked up 4.75m shares at 46p to put into treasury - this should hopefully mop up a big tranche of sellers and move the price upwards as it deserves. It's also timed nicely if it has a good end of year trading update (last years was on 10th April) with all the business win signs indicating it should be good one....

Back to November Falling Knife - becoming a screaming buy again. Don't know if it's the difficult UK restaurant market or Brexit - but the results answered the question with good export rise covering uk fall and cash now up to �15m (circa �1.40 of the share price) + stated good start to this year. It only has some 10m shares in issue so prone to larger swings - but I think this looks overdone by circa �2 now.

A lot of big sells keep going through - presume this may be institutions who picked up the initial shares at the floated �1 price and happily taking 25% profits. A bit of a stitch up really, as per the norm, as the original VC got all the IPO proceeds + left the company with a hefty debt pile - whilst the institutions had a sure fire profitable price to get it away. However, unlike the AA, Saga floats, this has more potential and a real chance - I think us 'little guys' can snap up a good long term share with 5% dividend - it will just need patience until the big sellers are exhausted and then it should start rising again.

Early April - finals last year - and as Sampson says - should be good with all debt repaid and very high Zinc prices in comparison to last year + higher production - could even be a dividend (ever hopeful). This should wake up the share price, but who knows! It does go in fits & starts - after all it has a year high and low of 140p and 48p respectively....so when it does wake up....

Probably just a lack of newsflow and current gradual pull back of gold price, remember it was sub 20p this time a year ago, so more inclined to drift down on profit taking, lack of excitement. Mid April before the Quarter 1 results - no idea of last couple of months, unless somebody has the Azerbaijan monthly gold figures, but Gold price was around $1200 rather than $1300 this time last year...

I don't think they have any idea, and with a mix of extraordinary growth + some big cases etc - doesn't fit their models. As Burford themselves said sometime ago - things could be lumpy in terms of results and difficult to predict when / � cases will conclude at. All this equals watch for further volatility but hopefully 1 step back 2 forwards etc....

I think as Redrichmond points out - the profit increase etc is all excellent, but the key is the trebled investment and 'Active start' $128m vs $1m last year - because this is the Pipeline indication of where it is going over the medium term and should enable the rerating / hold of the huge price rise seen now - onwards & upwards !

Latest dealings mean Al Sabbah has over 70% of the shares - this looks unhealthy and confirms the company is more tan ever like his 'plaything'. I will sign off from here....

I think it's a positive sign - that they actually have positive cash flow to enable a proper exploration programme, rather than the hand to mouth debt overhang of the last couple of years. Things will still swing on the gold price vs production - but this should be welcomed as a better chance to actively firm up, add and find new areas to boost that production looking ahead.

I think you will find that SRO was a speculative investment by Griffin in their eternal search for something as good as Griffin. It was Salmon Gums lignite that on full investigation couldn't be easily extracted for viable oil or gas, plus vague rumours of gold - that turned out to be just that! They sold Griffin's share at a loss and it is left as a cash shell. Just want Griffin to get that Zone II licence approved (waited x? years now) & pay a dividend instead.....!

Sold 1/2 some time ago and should have sold all (have now) - latest trading shows 1 hotel development abandoned and dividend cut or possibly abandoned leaving a distinct taste that the sugar daddy bit is being removed, losses for some time and the price support of a dividend going. Still don't like that he loans money at 9% effectively making himself money rather than for shareholders benefit. This share has been in stark contrast to my holding in PPH which shows the hotel sector is not all bad

If he had sold into the market such a large quantity it would have caused the price to plummet - probably below the �2.75 as people would want to know what/why etc. is going on. It's a balance as he had so many - they had to be at an appealing price for them to all be taken up - it's a bit like when companies do hare issues, normally at a price slightly below the market price, or well below if saving a balance sheet mess (see Galliford Try). As the companies position here is appealing - hence I thought they would soon be up again - just wish he could have offered me a few hundred !

I said some time back - poor management - this isn't all circumstances, it's their ability to keep an eye on the ball. Latest in this line as you point out is raising money to give it away in dividends + another dilution of shares (lower eps and higher divi cost if kept equal). Lesson learnt is to look hard at management teams that under promise but over deliver - they are still talking here as if it is all circumstances and cock sure of themselves = bad sign....

It was actually a book build and placing at �2.75 - i.e. interested parties subscribed, so they would likely be placed around various institutions. We will only know who any of them were if they trigger changes to already large share notifications, unless an unlikely single party purchased over 5%! The �2.75 ensured they sold but may have temporarily subdued the price - but not for long !!
