Although it looks like the approval is already there to administer to non-hospitalised patients, I would think that if they had started in care homes then it would be news worth sharing, by both RM and the Government. The latter will be feeling huge pressure at the minute to get something into care homes.

Its interesting that Synairgen are seemingly not in the picture for ACCORD. I wonder does that go back to RM's commitment that running their own trials is still the quickest way to market. I also suspect the financial benefit of continuing with their own trials would be better.

This Bemcentinib is now 4 weeks behind SNG as it is only entering stage 2 trials. It is also administered orally in tablet form so if both drugs are successful, there will likely be plenty of market share for each of them.

If the non-hospitalised patients bit was there before then, In my mind, they have less 'hoops' to jump through in order to expand the scope of testing outside of a hospital. The approval was already there.

How quick they could administer the drug was always driven by testing and todays update improves that. That was also necessary to expand the scope of testing outside of a hospital.

The timing of that update and no RNS to support it today is encouraging for me.

I think its always been understood that the earlier the better, however that's kind of the point of the trials. The problem wisthat they have been limited to hospital trials, at which point patients are quite far along. They then were limited further by the testing that's been available. A faster diagnosis will allow the dosing of patients earlier. A home trial even earlier again.

I think that's a positive update to their approach. It adds more definition to the data set, whereby they can show at what stage of infection the drug is best administered. It also shows us that they've not been afraid to adapt their approach to get the best set of results for the drug, even 3 weeks into the trials.

I was initially skeptical about this referenced treatment being SNG001 as it just felt too soon but having reviewed the 5 that are in national clinical trials on the RECOVERY program and the interview Peter Horby gave earlier, it feels like those 5 are a lot further away. than SNG001.

The only other interventional treatments on the NIHR website are Remsedivir & Chloroquine (both of which we've covered on this board and i think are unlikely); Cancovid (which was in stage 3 and is for patients with induced pnemonia) and Brensocatib which only started a week ago.

I might be slightly biased but none of them other treatments really seem like they could be as far along as us. Anyway, enough speculation for one night and fingers crossed for an RNS in the morning!

I'm sure (though am happy to be corrected) that the 6 drugs Matt Hanwilly mentioned are the 5 Recovery trial drugs and SNG001. In his interview today, Peter Horby from the recovery trial says they would be looking for answers by the end of next month.

However he said (from memory) they had enrolled 6000 patients and they would need around 12000 to give them the data they need. I might be paraphrasing him slightly haha

The leader of the RECOVERY trial (can't remember his name right now)was interviewed on BBC earlier and didn't give any indication that they were close to a development as major as this. Appreciate he could have been told not to.

What he said did suggest that this new trial platform was the next stage for one of these 6 drugs.

Pretty sure the other 5 are the RECOVERY trial. The likes of TILS etc aren't in stage 2 so we can discount them anyway

Thanks Sharedealer, I couldn't quite remember it all. I think he also said there is no clinically proven therapeutic treatment anywhere in the world. Is anyone aware of any drug in trials in the UK that is as far a along as SNG?

He said there were currently 6 clinical trials of drugs ongoing in the UK and one of those was ready to be moved to the next stage. No hint that it is us but fingers crossed!

It's not so much taking the **** as having a laugh at the concept itself! like something Doctor Evil would be up to. If it works for you then fair play and well done but probably too much time spent discussing it on this BB today.

We can all read and do our own research though and you guys shouldn't cross ramp if you want to avoid getting the **** taken.

If you think the government are going to publicly announce that they're backing the testing of mice in an effort to cure coronavirus then fire away. I'll sit that one out though. Unfounded rise IMO but maybe worth a small punt after the inevitable retrace.

Haha! They actually announced their torture program last Wednesday but only saw a rise today.

They'll be months away from anything concrete. Todays rise was purely on sentiment i'd be very surprised if it holds those gains tomorrow. If it does, then fair play to anyone that's in it.

Bring it on, i'll be topping up if it does. The company looks really good regardless of the current price drop. Well diversified and some fantastic products coming up.
