Jack i think you need to look up the definition of 'double blind study'.

It's not an extension of the trial, it's an expansion of the scope of the study. All with the aim of getting as much data as possible to demonstrate where the drug is best administered. Was it 'Data is King' that RM said? Maybe they will clarify in an RNS, however the original 8 week timeframe is still achievable if they can recruit the additional patients over the next week or so.

Thanks Doulton, even the NY times article said that the results had to be peer reviewed. Goes to show how much world leaders are clutching at straws to get some sort of treatment out there. Any clinically proven treatment is likely to do very well.

FDA are gonna approve the emergency use of Remdesivir. Although aimed at patients who are in a different stage of treatment, the evidence that they've collected seems a bit ropey to me and I think shows that SNG's approach is well considered.

I agree oil, It's good news and shows that the years of experience SNG have working with this dug has allowed them to direct the trial so that the results are in the right context. That's another advantage that they have over the other treatments being fast tracked.

Trek, Mologics test has been CE marked but not approved by PHE. It is to be manufactured by ODX and is not in use yet. RM answered the ACE question in the email response to the lads the other day.

Synairgens understanding of SNG was always going to drive them to get the drug to people earlier in the infection process however it is a step by step thing so they would have had to start in a hospital and expand from there. It's good to see that patients who have been discharged within the 14 days are taking it at home. To me that indicates a level of 'trust' in the drug and points towards, at the very least, it being safe.

Agree Greg! Not just that, but in my opinion this virus has highlighted a huge lack of capability for widespread diagnostics, both internationally and within large pharmaceuticals. I think there is huge market growth here that won't just counter this virus but will look to ensure that they can react quickly in the event of another one.

Pharma, why do you think they would put out an RNS when they've filled 100 patents of a 400 patient clinical trial approval?

They have approval to test 300 >65's which would be best done in care home environment. Is that not naturally the next step of this testing program (as stated in last weeks interview?)

Additionally, it is an ongoing trial however the initial time frame was 8 weeks. There's still a few weeks to go.

If you've done the research like you said you did then you wouldn't be polluting this BB like a schizo from one day to the next. One day it's heading a quid and the next its crashing. Maybe this really isn't for you?

Also (and this is purely speculation), with the ties to ACCORD and the drugs coming through in Southampton, is there potential to develop successful drugs for application with a nebulizer? Would that be something that SNG could contribute to and have an interest in?

Design freeze is the point at which the UK Rapid test consortium finalise the design of their rapid antibody test. It would signal that the companies who make up the consortium are moving to the manufacturing stage.

That's a measure of how much we can jump on news! If it's successful news then the jump will be a lot more.

He actually says in that interview that its too soon for antibody tests and they are not expected/needed until end of May/start of June however the RTC are looking at getting pin prick tests into homes.
