Black and White would suggest a conclusive answer. Richard Marsden is quoted as saying that conclusive is a strong word. This suggested to me at the time that the result of the trials is not binary.
The main objective of the trial, as per the EU trial register is,
'To assess whether SNG001 is well tolerated, and can prevent or accelerate recovery of lower respiratory tract illness in patients with SARS-CoV-2 infection.'
Is it safe? I don't think it would have been approved for home use if it wasn't.
Does it prevent or accelerate recovery of lower respiratory tract illness? It's highly unlikely that this or any drug will 100% prevent patients from developing lower respiratory tract illness. If it does, then the trial will have a conclusive answer and we could have a miracle drug on our hands - not to mention the fact we'll all be rich.
However, if we look at it realistically and acknowledge that no individual drug is going to be the answer to this awful virus, then the outcome of the trial will be to assess how much it helps. If it does help then it will likely move to phase 3 trials and hopefully SNG will have enough supporting data to get it approved for emergency use, therefore start to commercialise it.
As (if) it is rolled out to the wider population the understanding of how useful it is will grow.
