The June date includes the post-readout follow up for long covid at 60 and 90 days. They do not wait for the long covid data to be available before unblinding. Activ protocol will include DMC reviews (after day 28) and that could result in an EUA as early as March however we shouldn't underestimate the speculative impact of US exposure - it's deliberately being kept quiet for now but it won't stay that way.

TW is the trial investigator on behalf of NIHR. As such, he's impartial to the commercial operation, his position isn't close to Synairgen's scale-up operation nor would he necessarily be privvy to US progress. US NIH involvement is where the focus on scale up will come from.

That depends on how much the UK get behind it now. When it starts on Activ 2 (and possibly Activ 3) in the next couple of weeks we can expect things to start moving very quickly. 28 days until DMC can have a peek and there could well be an FDA EUA granted within a further 14 days.

I think the summer end date, RM stating the price, and the several public mentions about required support this week, are a last shot across the bows to the UK gov. They've sleepwalked to the point where the US may publicly announce this drug ahead of them (i suspect as soon as Biden is in).

Doc, the P3 trial is not limited to the northern hemisphere for the very reason that you're pointing out. Even if vaccination is successful enough to allow a proper breather in summer (which is unlikely btw but you seem oblivious to that), they'll be in a position to complete recruitment in the southern hemisphere. Theyll fill the trial and of the science stacks up, will be a leading treatment against covid for a long time.

Regardless, Sng are perfectly positioned to recruit the numbers needed during the peak viral season (Jan/Feb).

CR1909, Activ 2 trial end date has been amended to Dec 2021. They also now have 90 sites set up and ready to go.

Thats not what John is saying Tyla. The SNG website has shown Tikvah on 4% for a long while. The dilution from the placing would have brought their 5.38% holding down to 4%. SNG done the math and updated the website. Tikvah should have RNSd the change but left it till now.

The list of countries just guarantees scope if they need to chase the virus around. Its so prevalent in the UK, EU and US at the minute that most of the patients would likely be recruited from there. Youre right though that SA presents an opportunity to demonstrate the drugs potential use against all variants/strains/mutations.
