Interest in obtaining oil and gas supplies in Georgia is increasing.

Investors pay millions of dollars in research. New Chinese companies have entered the market this year and already have 9 million lari in the budget. Companies make the first comment on their plans with the First Channel. After the seismic surveys, investors will start searching for oil reserves in different parts of the country.

Despite growing interest and optimistic forecasts, statistics indicate that even small amounts of gas and oil extraction in Georgia are still lower.

The head of the oil and gas agency says that the probability of gas and oil discovery in Vani and Tskaltubo regions is very high
The Deputy Mayor of Tskaltubo Municipality Zurab Maisuradze met with Giorgi Tatishvili, head of the State Oil and Gas Agency.

According to Tskaltubo municipality, the purpose of the meeting was to introduce the scoping account of the Minimum Work Program for the Distribution of Oil and Gas Resources (VIA Licensing Block) Distribution Distribution Agreement in Tskaltubo Municipality.

As it became known, geological search works are planned in eight municipalities. The first exploration sites are Vani and Tskaltubo, where the X-ray coverage of the plot is about 5000 meters depth. Nine million Lari licenses have been acquired by the Chinese company - "Georgia Kilaiheni Energy Limited Company".

Giorgi Tatishvili, Head of the State Oil and Gas Agency, held a public hearing for the municipal officials and introduced the project's expected benefits.
The head of the agency noted that the probability of gas and oil discovery is very high.

"The River Rioni basin is gas and oil, but what is the amount of it will become known after the bore. Approximately 100 to 70% gas and 50/50 oil. This is a long process that involves serious research, environmental issues, seismic work, probability probability, which is expected to end in four years and then start work. Tskaltubo municipality's upper zone areas are the object of our research "- stated Giorgi Tatishvili.

The first deputy mayor of Tskaltubo Municipality gave the Licensing Company the company's recommendation for socially active project and expressed readiness for cooperation.

The public discussion of the scoping report was attended by Chou Yon Khuni, Director of "Georgia Qolayshin Energy Limited Company" and company representative Wag Binn.

If I was an oil major who caught wind that two of my competitors are closely watching a company in Georgia I’d be sticking my nose in for a look aswell .... just saying

Just thinking out loud here .... rns says that talks regarding a transaction are at an early stage not that the nda are at an early stage and states that a big step has been taken via sites visits ... clearly a site visit means discussions have been ongoing for sometime as a major would analysis information in a data room before committing a team to visiting Georgia ... I think we’re closer than we realise

i posted a link that was reporting on majors descending into the Caspian region and the reply i got what ' what has this gotta do with us?' ......well...my view was that these companies are tripping over them selfs to get a slice of action in Azer and i could not see why we wouldnt be in scope..... it appears we are :)

It also ties in with other links posted about developing assets along the SGC pipeline and remember our previous discussion about how the USA dont become best buds with a country unless they are to significantly benefit from that friendship.

I’ve started to think (and i hope I’m wrong) that we are more likely to get an agreement where frr pretty much have a free carry for a % of the asset and that we won’t get a lump sum of cash from the jv on top of the %.... left my rose tints in the car today . hope I’m wrong. It just trying to keep myself grounded , what’s your guys thoughts ?

She also noted that an Interdepartmental Commission had been established to organize the conclusion of the relevant agreements on the organization of conclusion and implementation of production sharing agreements. Minister Igor Nosilki As chairman of the Interdepartmental Commission, he makes every effort to improve the investment climate, to ensure clear and transparent rules of the game on the market.
Natalia Boyko pointed out that the conditions for holding a tender for the possibility of concluding a production sharing agreement are simple, common for all participants and as favorable as possible for investors, including foreign ones.
Participants in the meeting discussed in detail the mechanism and timing of the conclusion of production sharing agreements. The Ukrainian side assured that the mechanism provides for transparent conditions for the formation of proposals to the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine regarding participation in the competition for the conclusion of production sharing agreements. also representatives of the Ministry of Energy noted that it would be interesting for Ukraine to invest in prospecting works that could increase the confirmed resources of oil and gas.
The American side assured that it is interested in cooperation, considering the prospects of the sites and intends by investing to create additional value for both the company and our state
