Natia Turunava: "Georgia Should Become a Regional Hub of Energy and Energy Trade"
The legislative harmonization of the existing legislation in the field of energy and the legislative harmonization of the Association Agreement was discussed at the meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on Sector Economy and Economic Policy, which was held in the Hotel "Rumisi" with the support of the European Union and UNDP. Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Natia Turunava participated in the workshop.
"As you know, the Government of Georgia, within the Association Agreement with the European Union, is working on the issues of energy market concept of EU approaches to EU standards. In this process, the Ministry of Economics is, of course, actively involved. Today's meeting was dedicated to discussing this new market concept, "Natia Turunava told media representatives.
According to him, this concept provides for openness and competitiveness of the market. "Georgia is transformed into regional hubs for various economic activities, including energy trade and energy. It is possible to trade freely across the entire region to establish an objective, competitive price and be more protected by the consumer, as competition always raises more optimal price and more quality. These moments will be precisely in this reform, "said Tornava.
The meeting with the members of the Parliament of Georgia was attended by the representatives of the Government of Georgia and the experts of the field.
