i am aware of all that but in the heat of the moment, you learn your true character in many respects
i have around 9k on Card. average a horrendous 70p!
lol
should is the operative word!
easier said than done but Bahamas was a nightmare and feel lucky to get out with 30% of what i invested
easier said than done but Bahamas was a nightmare and feel lucky to get out with 30% of what i invested
i have basically close to half my money in Card and half in Cineworld but i am tempted by shares like Magellan for their dividends as well as others like IAG etc.
I am surpised someone on this forum so diligent in checking prior posts!
i obviously sold up. i flip flop too much. i have been investing in shares for just under 2 years. Bought shares like BP at its peak and then lost badly when coronovirus hit a few months later. Then Got burnt by bahamas petroleum and even sold thousands of pounds of Cineworld when there was a chance of bankruptcy. if i held on to cineworld i would be up around double as things stand. Anyway, for some stupid reason, i felt i could time the market and make money flipping shares. I have calmed down a lot but sold Cinemark to invest in Card Factory also which is supoosed to be a multi bagger......
I really need one big win in shares or will probably stay away for good.
I am my own worst enemy. I should have not put my faith in Cineworld as much and put some money into Cinemark. Cinemark still has 70% upside. Not as much as Cineworld but i may look to put some funds there if i can.

Moonpig and Card have similar sales but wildly different valuations. Card have had in very recent years had consistently higher yearly revenues and profits.
i was expecting a much higher bounce in share price first thing today!

"Villeneuve has conceived Herbert’s saga on a massive scale, which more than justifies seeing Dune in a theatre. And that’s not simply because of Patrice Vermette’s bold, minimalist production design or cinematographer Greig Fraser’s operatic images – viewers will want to appreciate the grandiose electronic score cooked up by Hans Zimmer on as sophisticated a sound system as possible. Villeneuve’s collaborators give the film a legitimately otherworldly feel, although his insistence on treating the story’s sci-fi/fantasy elements in a realistic manner helps ground the narrative.

"Look it’s still early: Even if Shang-Chi comes in over 4-days in the high $50M range, understand, it’s still a domestic B.O. record. Overall, even by pre-pandemic standards, that’s a phenomenal Labor Day weekend, and one of the best we’ve seen this year.
The Labor Day weekend box office, the last frame of summer, which studios typically shy from, is poised for a revolution as Disney debuts the first Asian American Marvel superhero feature Shang-Chi and the Legend of Ten Rings.
Studios have held the long belief that no one goes to the movies over Labor Day weekend, and it’s for that reason why they’ve avoided opening movies over the four-day holiday. However, Disney believes that it’s possible to open a Marvel movie anywhere on the calendar, even during a pandemic. NRG moviegoing comfort levels have stabilized over the last two weeks in the 66-68% range

I have invested a couple of thousand in Cinemark which has the potential to double and has much lower debts. i am up almost 20% in a week. Its a shame the rest is stuck in almost limbo in Cinewrold and Card factory.
New James Bond footage from historic Hollywood studio MGM shook and stirred the movie theater industry's CinemaCon summit in Las Vegas Tuesday, as executives struck a defiant note about the future of the big screen.
A nine-minute clip from "No Time To Die" -- billed as Daniel Craig's final 007 outing, and the series' 25th installment -- showed Bond apparently awakening from an explosion in a picturesque Italian village, before plunging into a series of car and motorbike chases.
"Though we know it feels like a long time coming, it was important to us to release this movie when fans can watch James Bond, as it's intended to be enjoyed -- on the big screen," MGM film chief Michael De Luca said, to a loud ovation.

Ghostbusters: Afterlife held its first public screening at CinemaCon this week, and the online reactions tease a huge jolt of nostalgia.
Boasting an impressive cast of Paul Rudd (most of your favourite comedies from the last 20 years), Carrie Coon (The Leftovers) and Finn Wolfhard (Stranger Things), director Jason Reitman takes the reins on a franchise originally spearheaded by his father Ivan.
Taking place 30 years on from Ghostbusters II, Coon's single mum Callie and her two kids relocate to a small Oklahoma town where they unearth their connection to the original Ghostbusters.

Following the screening, founder of the Hollywood Critics Association (HCA) Scott Menzel tweeted: "Ghostbusters: Afterlife is the Ghostbusters sequel that I've been waiting all my life to see. It is nostalgia done right.
"A perfect blend of classic Ghostbusters moments with a fresh & unique twist for a whole new generation to enjoy. I got goosebumps."
"Yes, Ghostbusters: Afterlife screened at CinemaCon. Yes I saw it. Yes, it's very good," wrote 411Mania's Jeffrey Harris. "Yes, this is the true Ghostbusters sequel you've been waiting for. It does have a lot of callbacks but it's a nostalgic homage for the franchise."
CinemaBlend's Sean O'Connell added: "Saw #GhostbustersAfterlife at CinemaCon and it's good. A solid continuation of the original two films. Nostalgia for the original, and a strong turn by McKenna Grace as Egon's granddaughter. Paul Rudd gets the best lines. Fans will dig it."
“We don’t see 34% drops like this very often, particularly in the pandemic era,” said Paul Dergarabedian, senior media analyst at Comscore.
In fact, “Free Guy” had the best hold from its first to second week of any film that opened with more than $10 million in ticket sales in the last year. In total, the film has secured $112 million globally since its release.
“It’s another great signal for what a crowd-pleasing film can achieve in theaters,” said Shawn Robbins, chief analyst at Boxoffice.com. “The conversation around this movie is sticking in a way that is wholly unique to the cinematic experience and distribution path.”
