Well spotted by a member of the Pensana Investors Telegram Group.
Taking place today 22nd September in New York is the U.S.–Africa Critical Minerals Roundtable – “Mines to Markets: U.S.–Africa Partnerships for Critical Minerals”.
The U.S.–Africa Critical Minerals Roundtable on 22 September 2025 is designed to strengthen partnerships between African governments, U.S. agencies, and private sector leaders across the critical minerals value chain. Its aim is to move beyond simple resource extraction by fostering investment in responsible sourcing, local processing, and industrial value addition, while promoting sustainability and transparency. With panels, ministerial dialogues, and a dedicated “Deal Room,” the forum seeks to unlock new trade and financing opportunities, align U.S. and African interests in securing reliable supplies of minerals vital for the global energy transition, and ensure African nations capture greater economic benefits from their natural resources.
Panelists include H.E. Diamantino Pedro Azevedo (Angola - Minister of Mineral Resources, Petroleum &Gas), Dr. João Baptista Borges (Angola - Minster of Energy and Water), Ben Kincaid (ReElement Africa).
Previously Azevedo has emphasised that Angola does not just want to extract raw materials, but also to develop processing, refining, industrialization, value-addition within the country. This includes downstream capacity for critical minerals (which would include rare earths) rather than exporting only raw ore.
The agenda explicitly includes a “Deal Room” and a Sponsors’ Lunch Spotlight, which are designed for companies and governments to announce or sign partnerships, MoUs, and investments.
