A positive day but the volume was awful - just 788,924 - only around a quarter managed earlier in the week and the lowest daily total since 29th December 2017 and that was probably only a half day before the new year.

The only bright side is that the shorts are not around at the moment - so I guess they are expecting the SP to rise - the few that are here could suffer the same fate as Edward the second of England.

NO is heading towards Kraken at over 14 knots - always a good sign for an early hook up - ETA is lunchtime tomorrow - weather is set fine.

It seems that Kraken won't be getting new neighbours - unless they have another go - bad luck Cairn.

Navion Hispanica is laid up according to Marine Traffic - in sea faring terms that means they don't need her at the moment.

Other shuttle tankers in the Teekay fleet are also idle at the moment - both Petroatlantic and Petronordic are both moored at Cromarty.

In fact all summer the whole fleet has been fairly slack maybe with winter coming and a dose of bad weather things will change but it looks to me that production in general must be down even with Lancaster coming on stream.

The last load completed on 6th October.
NO is still offloading in Rotterdam so we don't have an ETA for Kraken yet but she is due at Scapa Flo for a STS on the 20th October.

I think the last load was probably closer to 600k so production could be the same but with slightly longer cycles???

I think that it is true to say that all the information on this attack came from the Iranians but there has been no collaborative evidence from elsewhere. As the attack happened in this busy Red Sea shipping lane this seems rather odd.

Woodford based his strategy around Brexit - he thought it would make little difference to the UK economy and that UK shares would rebound quickly when a deal was done - I guess he ran out of time on that one.

Also it has to be said that he has some incredibly bad luck and was very badly let down by some of the companies he invested in - Provident Finance for example.

Looking at other funds closer to SM - Jupiter's UK Growth Fund has also performed badly and it seems that they are looking for a new fund manager.

The thing is that given time both funds could have turned the corner and made good returns - the same will hopefully be true with SM.

Jasmine Knutsen is not part of the Teekay shuttle fleet that services Kraken and Alvheim.

The only two Knutsen vessels in the Teekay fleet are Heather and Grena Knutsen - both are on charter to Teekay.

Nothing definite yet but Amundsen Spirit is the most likely although she may be going to Alvheim

The Government have a very odd way of dealing with business in the UK

I think it is based more on politics in the UK and has nothing to do with Europe. It seems that with the combat politics of the two party system that from the Conservative point of view helping business is a socialist policy and therefore they won't help and the Labour party will only help is they can take them under Government control.

There must be a middle way - the Norwegians for example take a stake in a successful business and profit from it - as we have seen with Yara.

Somehow the only motivating factor for our Government is dealing with a crisis or a fear of failure - that I think comes back to the two party system and it doing our country and economy a great deal of harm.

I would like to think that you are right but never underestimate the shorts, they always have the ability to surprise and they don't often get it wrong - we still have another couple of weeks before the end of the month a lot can happen in that time.

Regardless of the good news that now looks more likely at the end of the month we could still see the SP slipping if the shorts decide to mount another attack. The SP is still way below the falling average - around 6-7p - and is therefore very vulnerable.

So my guess is that the shorts may try and take the SP down another step - beware stop losses.
