Thanks for that Laguerre. The slight price recovery that I saw was on the sell price rising to 37.6 from 37.0 during the day. I have had a hard day out on the hills and wouldn't have been surprised had I misidentified late posts from previous days; it has happened before.
I have dug a little deeper into the results to see if there was something I missed or over saw. What I have seen is that although turnover was up to £14.035m from £10.985m and gross profit was up to £10.215m from £7.180m the effect of the increase in Admin Expenses to £10.425m from £7.180m meant there was an operating loss of £210,000 from a profit of £1.114m. The Admin Expenses were £1.2m relating to the acquisition including the amortisation of £1.0m of acquired intangible assets and also £1.3m (2013 £0.4m) of expenses arising from the accounting of share option schemes. If the increase of £2.1m is taken out of the equation then the operating profit would have been nearly £2.0m from £1.114m for 2013. Infact, looking further down the results, it states that the Adjusted Operating profit is £2.202m from £1.489m for 2013 (excludes expenses relating to share options schemes and acquisitions). I believe that the increase in Admin Expenses are likely to be a one off and the next update should make for better reading.
Cash flow from operating activities is positive and we know the BOD have recommended an increase in the full year dividend of 25% which is a major confidence factor as to how they view the fortunes of the company.
Anyway, just looking for possible reasons for fall in share price rather than just put it down to market loss of confidence (which it may well be). Headline figures at first glance from fundamentals can be misread without going into more detail.
We'll see what happens on Monday. Just out of interest, what is your take on ECK?, positive, negative or indifferent?.
Regards
