Back in with a very much reduced holding than previous. I have decided that if I am to invest here it is probably better to drip feed into it. I got more than a little ahead of myself the last time rather than stick to my older investment strategy of investing a little at a time, holding back funds to invest further if I felt it justified. Also means I have less to lose if the share heads South. Looking at the share trades, the last one is a sell not a buy. I know because before the market closed I checked on the sell price which was given at just over 74p. The previous transaction was mine, last of the big spenders!, but as much as I was prepared to invest. Good luck all and regards CM

Thanks DE. Followed HAYT throughout the day again, no buy order this time. If I am to buy back in then it would be best before the results because looking at a previous RNS they are likely to be positive and at least in line with market expectations. There may be another RNS out before the results of course, likely to be another plus if there is one. Regards C,

Hi BT, you're very welcome. Agree with your comments re. markets. Seems to be euphoria one moment and despair the next. Perhaps we do expect too much, especially if we have had a good run. Stability in a falling market, yes, to me it shows some good strength, which is one of the reasons I have re-invested in CLL. We could argue pretty much the same for GBG too. Hello BT. I was going to say good evening, but it wouldn't be appropriate after what you posted earlier. I am sorry to read your news. It really is so hard to lose such a good friend, I know, I fully understand. I lost my "best mate" some years ago. Although not strictly mine, it was generally accepted that we "were made for each other"!. We went everywhere together, camping, walking, swimming. He would even go awol from his home and turn up on my doorstep. Although absent in body, he is still with me and I have so many happy memories of our time together. I am sure it will be the same for you and Mrs. BT. Hard to lose them, but we wouldn' t be without those memories would we. My thoughts and condolences are with you. On other matters. Yes, GBG recovered from its fall back today. I had been monitoring for most of the day, looking for a possible re-entry point. It didn't fully arrive. Not sure what price I was looking for, 143-144p possibly. If I do re-invest it won't be to the level I did previously. CLL is a difficult one to understand why the share price hasn't pushed higher. Everything is there to push it higher, increasing revenue and profits, dividend, low PEG, all the fundamentals add up and meet my strict investment criteria. Perhaps it is just dozing (sounds a good idea). Sometimes we have to be patient and wait; bit like badger watching, wait, wait, wait a bit longer and just when you feel like giving up and going home....wait a bit longer and hey presto out come the little fur balls!. Watched HAYT for much of the day. Price was falling back all day, very gradually, so I held off. I was expecting a retrace as is HAYTs way after a good rise. I missed the opportunity to sell out high(er) a couple of weeks ago then got caught out with the bear growling, getting stopped out of my main holding and throwing my arms up in despair for the rest (silly emotional affect). Should have re-read the last RNS re update. But the market doesn't always re-act what we would call logically at times though. However, may well buy back in tomorrow with a smaller holding than before. Glad to hear you have had a better day today. Hope your grandson enjoyed his bike.....lucky fella!. Congratulations to all who stayed invested here through the awful turmoil of last week (is that all it is, last week, seems an age ago). I am amazed at just how quickly TRCS has come back, or I would have re-invested at around the 300p mark. I was elsewhere at the time and wasn't in an easy position to re-invest. Perhaps that is a lesson for us all, that if we are invested in decent companies they will largely come back. At the time it was difficult to know where the market was going and downside looked more likely than upside. Although bailing out of the market completely to preserve capital and profits made over the last 2 years rather than see them evaporate in a matter of just 2 weeks or possibly months, I have re-entered the market with a holding in CLL, which I had held previously. I put a buy order limit on HAYT around midday when the share price was still hovering around its opening price. Needless to say the order didn't execute and I find myself kicking myself for 1. not buying in at the price quoted at the time and 2. selling out in the first place when stocks generally were crashing!. My reasons for selling were sound, I just didn't have the balls (or anything else) to be a contrarion and buy instead!. Aaarrrggghhh!, got it wrong again!. Share price may give me another opportunity to buy and to be honest it is still lower than the last couple of times I bought in. Perhaps I will just lower my holding this time. Lets see what the market brings tomorrow, and if I have the nerves. Perhaps this will be regarded as having been a bargain DE. I now have to try and forget what happened previously and start again, but learn a lesson from it all. Regards CM

Good evening BT. A good day for GBG. Glad to see the tick up. I wasn't sure how the market was going to take to the update and so resisted buying back in. I did put a buy order for 143p but it didn't execute. I could have bought back in at just under 146p mid/late afternoon but have held off. It may be that the share price will fall back tomorrow, who knows?. So, it looks like you did exactly the right thing holding your nerve BT, well done. "Seen it all before" has served you well. As I have said previously I just couldn't hold my nerve. I could learn a lot from you. Yes, GBG has done me very well so I can't complain. I may yet buy back in. I have bought back into one of my other holdings that I had sold; CLL. It hadn't fallen back too much and I was able to buy back in at very nearly the same price I had sold at. Another previous holding HAYT I have been monitoring closely and like GBG I had put a buy limit order on it for today whilst at work. I thought that one may execute but it didn't and just went further North. Very frustrating. Having said that my feeling of frustration and disappointment is less strong than when seeing my profits rapidly go out with the tide. Besides, there will be other opportunities. Keep the faith?, more like rediscover my confidence and belief in myself. I'll do what I can. We're expecting the tail end of a storm weatherwise tomorrow here; feel like I've already been through one!. Anyway, mustn't grumble really, there are plenty others out there who are in a far worse state than me. Hope all is well in Newmarket (have I got that right?). Regards CM

Hi BT, thanks for the post my friend. I appreciate your views. From past experience, it is difficult to sit out of the market. Danger is getting back in for the sake of it. Also, not to get emotionally involved with ANY share; which there is a real danger of with GBG, like I did with GBO and also TRCS to a degree. I need to sit back and weigh things up. What is my strategy?, do I HAVE a strategy?. My time frame is out of necessity short term(ish). Think you may well be right BT, re trading update. If not this week then almost certainly the following week. It will be a good indication of how the market is in how it reacts to any update. Best wishes CM

Hi Cagney. I thought I had been with GBG for a good time, but can't come close to you. Greener pastures?, hmm. Not sure there are many of those around right now. Yes, having itchy fingers is not good. We can get impatient if we are invested in a company and there is little movement. Although out of GBG, and indeed the whole market at present, GBG has never disappointed so far with results and RNSs. If we are going to invest elsewhere then we must make sure all is sound or we are in danger of just taking a gamble. The feeling of "having to invest" is powerful. The main problem at present is the general state of the markets. October is a notoriously bad month. There have been numerous "corrections" in October in the past, and this may be just another. Friday was a good day, but what lies ahead none of us know. I exited the market completely on Tuesday. It looked good timing at the time with what happened on Wednesday and Thursday. It may still prove to be a good decision....or it may not. I was seeing my profit being quickly wiped out having lost around 30% in less than a month. I was just not prepared to see it more disappear; it took too long for it to build. The feeling of losing more capital was greater than the feeling that all may be fine if I just kept my nerve and stayed invested. I can always buy back in. Maybe I need time on the sidelines.....if I can cope with that!. I will keep a very close eye on GBG. Good luck all CM

I like this company too, but feel I have to exit, all be it at a loss to protect my capital from the bear market in small caps, possibly being followed by a bear market generally. If I do exit, then HAYT will remain on my watchlist to re-enter once the market has improved and confirmation of a reverse trend has been given. Nothing wrong with HAYT, just present market sentiment when everything is going down. Profits overall for me down 20% in 2-4 weeks. Taken too long to get there to see it evaporate so quickly. Support level around 100p?. Not for a while I'm afraid imo. But the very best of luck to you. Regards CM

Hello BT. Thanks for your post and sentiments. I appreciate them. We agree on many and most things apart from when to off load some or all of our holdings. I am not prepared to take more losses or loss of profits to sit and wait for things to improve. I don't want to lose over 2 years profits in 2 months, which is a possibility the way things are going. No, tomorrow, I may get out of everything. I have set stop losses. I have lost 20% of my profits in a month or less. My long term is retrospective, in that I can't see beyond 6 months ahead. It is a problem I have had for some years due to something which happened to me. It isn't just shares it relates to, it is everything. As predicting the bottom of the market, no, can't say, but I think there may well be some way to go yet and cracking companies like GBG will be dragged down. Even todays positive RNS, which we would expect to bolster the share price failed to lift the share price into the blue. Not the only company for that to happen to today or recently. That is a classic tale of a bear market. Earlier in the year we could have expected the share price to have jumped by 3p or more. There will probably be a good trading update before the end of the month and results in November. However, it may only lead to a short upturn in the share price as was the case with HAYT. Should have taken the opportunity to have sold out then at a smaller loss rather than sit on my hands with the expectations of a retrace as has been the case. If I do "bail" out of here then I will continue to keep an eye on what is happening and comment from time to time. The fear of getting it wrong by staying in the market outweighs the thought of getting it wrong by sitting on the side lines. Good luck my friend. Regards CM

It's the present state of the markets WG. I thought I had got it wrong when I sold out here at 37.5p and 42.5p but now it seems I got lucky (nothing more). The general trend needs to change for not only ECK but most shares. I can't see what is going to be the catalyst for that apart from when the market has fallen enough that shares seem cheap again. Even good news from companies only has a short lived positive effect on their share price. ECK remains on my watchlist awaiting the time to buy back in. No target price set. Regards CM

Here's a shock to the system...........I've sold my holding today in TRCS. I REALLY didn't expect that to happen. Infact, if I was to have one stock left had you asked me yesterday or the day before I would have said it would have been TRCS. However, the share price has been hit badly today, and there is no guarantee with the market as it is right now that the price won't retrace back towards the 300p mark again, even without justification. Nothing wrong here apart from sentiment. I can always buy back in. Having bought initially at around 87p or so I can have no grumbles. I never had a major holding as it happens, but have made enough to want to take my profit now rather than see it drip, drip away. The last fall back to 300p unnerved me. Feel the need to go far more into cash. I have also reduced holdings elsewhere, notably GBG (almost out). Good luck all, I may be back. Oh, and come on you reds!. Regards CM

Market jitters rabw. Small caps are being marked down as they have been for some time, regardless of fundamentals etc. I sold out of here a while ago, very reluctantly. Have moved more into cash to preserve capital, and may do more. Difficult times. See no reason to buy anything at present, until mkt. recovers. There will then be a time to pick up shares cheaper. In the mean time good luck to all in here and with your other holdings. Don't get into the mindset of being "locked in" to any share folks. Any share can get cheaper, and the only time we are locked in is if the share is suspended or alike. We can always buy back in if necessary when things improve. CM

Very reluctantly, I have reduced my holdings here, but remain in. Quoted silly price for selling full holdings. Maybe things will pick up later. CM

Can't get a quote to sell for anything more than 1000 shares, showing 142p. Could get 143p very first thing. May get more for multiple transactions overall than one transaction. Usually a sign the price is about to change. Good luck all, we need it. CM

Thanks for the post Rivaldo. I take what any broker/nomad says of being of interest only. No date given as for the target, at least it is positive. I suspect that many of the sell trades are in fact buys. The bid/offer price has been falling throughout the afternoon and is now showing 75/76, so any buy trades just now will be shown as a sell. Misleading. Hopefully most investors will be aware of the situation. That would give us a rise of 2p on the day from yesterday using a mid price of 75.5p. Shame this RNS didn't come out yesterday in time for Robbie Burns, the Naked Trader, to flag it up. He will have seen it of course so will add to his optimism for the share. Perhaps it will get commented on in the weekend press!. I would have been surprised to see the share close much above what it is showing right now, near 4 p.m. Good luck and regards CM

Good morning. It's been pretty quiet on here for a while. Glad to see there are others around though. It's good to have a RNS out today, much needed generally to help not only my portfolio but hopefully others too. Good news indeed. HAYT, despite its' fundamentals and bullish RNSs has been affected by the bear market in small caps of late, which has been going on since late March, early April. This has hit most shares regardless of their strengths or weaknesses, which is very frustrating. I see nothing wrong with HAYT for its recent decline. My break even point here is just under 80p, having bought in on 5 occasions, including accidentally the last time!. I would love to see the share climb from here, but I fear it will only be short term before the market gets its teeth into HAYT again (along with the present chewing of other stocks). However, at present, this is a hold for me. A bit of breathing space at least. Hopefully the bear market won't last long. This is very much the time to being very selective with our investments. Hi BT. I am feeling very nervous about the state of the markets. The small cap mkt. certainly is in a bear mkt and has been since the end of March. It may well be that contrary to what I have posted before that I bail out here and from most of my other holdings for a hopefully brief time. I can see GBG retreating to around 130p (may well be wrong) but will look to re-enter at a better price if I do sell out. I have been looking through a book "The Zulu Principle" by Jim Slater, written back in 1992, but still valid in many respects today. In one chapter "The Markets" he mentions ways of identifying the top of a bull market. Here are just a few: Interest rates are usually about to rise. The consensus view of investment advisors will be bullish. Offers for sale, rights issues and new issues are usually in abundance, with quality suffering and low grade issues being chased to ridiculous levels. Shares fail to respond to good news. Directors might report excellent results only to see the price of the shares fall. At the top of a bull market investors usually move from safe growth stocks into cyclicals. Any of the above sound familiar?. There really is no good news around right now. There is the trouble mentioned above with the Eurozone, ebola, trouble with Islamic State, Syria, Ukraine, France and Italy reacting against the IMF regarding the size of their debts, concern re interest rates, even in the US that they may rise because the economy is growing!. Not far off is the UK general election with uncertainty as to the result of that will be to worry the markets!. Tomorrow is another day of course. Whether or not the rise in the DOW will have any effect here we await to see. Not chickening out BT, just possibly adjusting my short term investment strategy. Good luck all and regards CM
