Thanks for that rivaldo. I could have bought this at around 85p the other day - now I am looking at nearer 91p. Buying on impulse though can be a mistake and as I have said elsewhere, if a share is worth buying today then it generally is tomorrow and later even if it means the price has moved North. Also notice the spread is closer than that shown above. Back to doing a little more research. Regards CM

Adding to rivaldo's post below: A little late perhaps, the following is from the latest Naked Trader (Robbie Burns) diary from 14 December: "I've also bought Sanderson (SND) . This one has good cash and profit growth and specialises in software and IT. Suggested by Phill (with two L's!) at seminar. Looks a super medium term Isa tuckaway with very bright prospect with an initial �1 target." It has been on my watchlist since mid December, but as yet I haven't invested. Keeping a close(r) eye on SND. The spread puts me off just a tad, but this has been addressed by a post below. Often a trade will be (well) within the given spread. Hi JJ. Thanks for your comments, they are appreciated. I am far from sure I would call myself a sage, I just have a lot of experience both good and bad over many years and have made many mistakes (some costly). I try not to advise anyone to do anything other than research for themselves and may recommend some specific reading. I find the BOO board difficult at times with certain characters spouting off. It can become very tiring. I believe that the so called "de-rampers" need to be taken seriously as many a time there is a good deal of truth in what they post as opposed to the often over optimistic and unrealistic noise made by many of the rampers, but of course that opens me up to criticism. I prefer quieter boards and often there are more successful investments to be made longer term from them. Here's hoping this will be no exception here. Not expecting nor wanting any rockets here, slow an steady will do me/us nicely. Regards and as you have posted JJ, a Happy and prosperous New Year........oh, and healthy one too. CM

GBG at 60p, oh yes, some time ago now. Who would have thought it would reach over 400p?. Does make me wonder where DOTD may rise to over the same period of time. Patience perhaps. Nice quiet board here, usually a good sign. Regards to all CM

Hello there C8, how you doing?. Didn't know you were here, good to hear from you. Early days, but so far so good. I first came across DOTD years ago on a recommendation from growthcompanyinvestor.com when the share price was way lower. Didn't take any action but have looked at it a few times since, more so with stockopedia.com which gives it a high rating on the measures they use. We can all decide the share price has gone much higher and maybe it won't/can't go much higher only to look again later to see it has indeed gone higher. How many times have I seen that?!. I believe in investing into strength which is why I would rather pay a higher price on a rising share price than investing into weakness on a falling share price on the hope there will be a turn around. Still have to keep an eye on things though and not become complacent; the market can be very fickle and things can change very quickly as we all know. The trades shown at or close to 96p today are more likely to be buys and not sells as shown. After sitting on the fence for so long that I probably have splinters in my backside, I bought in today for 96p. Time will tell if it will be a good decision or not. Not expecting fireworks, nor want them. Gla CM

I may be wrong, but if we strip out all the trades reported after hours (which will have been exercised sometime during the day or other days) and ignore the UT trade, then the more likely closing share price is around 509p. I have noticed on a number of different shares, ie NUM and XLM, recently that the closing share price is quite widely out. When the market opens next the share price is much more aligned to what the last trade before closing was. We'll wait and see what Monday brings but it looks like any Santa rally is being delayed this year, perhaps he is worried about border controls re. Brexit. Regards CM

Good evening BT. I didn't see your post earlier until after I had posted - must have been at the keyboard at the same time. Actually, I was on my mobile during my afternoon break at work. Same old, same old here as the saying goes. Just when we think we are moving away from the 400p mark someone or thing seems to drag the share back down again. Frustrating and rather tiring to be honest. So use to it that I wonder if it really isn't better just to sit back and say "whatever", that is the way the market works; sometimes no rhyme nor reason. I feel that we can't be complacent and need to keep an eye on things generally but would rather be in here than in many other companies shares. Weather here is mixed. We've had it cold but not the amount of snow that others have experienced; some on the tops but none down to road level just yet. I have the snow chains and shovel in the car waiting for that. Some good clear blue sky days co-inciding with my day(s) off has enabled me to get out on the tops with crampons (needed) and ice axe (not needed so far). However, have gone down with a cold these last couple of days - probably serves me right and which meant I missed dog training last night out in the woods. Hope all goes well BT with the building project with no delays. Better go - my nose is running faster than I can - not a pretty sight. Regards and best wishes CM

Some very big trades seem to have gone through today at various times, both buys and sales. Not sure as yet what the significance is of them. Perhaps we will get a RNS shortly. I do know that Black Rock have increased their holding recently. It's a little un-nerving to see the share price fall back below my previous purchase, but that is all part of investing. Unfortunately(?) Robbie Burns, the Naked Trader, has exited, in his words the trade had run its' course. However, RB would be the first to suggest no-one copy him. Lets see what happens. gla CM

Hi Cagney, good to hear from you. Yes, BT and I are still here, although I have been in and out a couple of times. The share has its' good and not so good days for whatever reason. Frustrating. Guess the same could be said for most shares. I do have other holdings too, which occasionally I shuffle, maybe turning another card. Thanks for the post, good to read someone else on here. A positive article re SMDS in todays Daily Mail. Can't give a link at present 'cos I am on my mobile. As I posted yesterday we shouldn't have been surprised that the share price fell on results day, they so often do. My concern the other day was how much the company is involved with plastic packaging which is not getting rave reviews generally at present due to plastic ending up in the marine environment. I think in time there may be some restrictions on plastic production but can only wait and see. If that HAS had an impact on the share price then it will probably blow over sometime shortly. There has been little buying in so far by funds with SMDS entering the FTSE100 at the end of the month. That may well change. Good luck all CM

As is common these days, unless there is the phrase "beyond expectations" then the share price of a company releasing its latest trading update/results tends to see the share price fall despite the initial gains. Also, I note that there is a huge amount of 'A' trades all going through at the same second, which from experience tend to co-incide with downward price movement it seems. I have never quite worked out the true significance of the trades but find it hugely frustrating. SMDS has a buy recommendation from Motley Fool today which means precisely, or very close to, nothing. At least it wasn't a sell recommendation. Wait and see I guess. At this rate I may even consider a further very small top up, emphasis on the word consider. CM

A great start to the day but falling away quite swiftly now. Results seemed reasonable. It is always/will always a bit of a gamble to sell out or try to sell out on a spike with the intention to buy back in again at a lower price during the day. Although SMDS has been promoted into the FTSE100 it doesn't officially take place until the end of the month. Perhaps then there may be more buying pressure as funds needing to buy in won't be buying/selling short term. Patience is the key (not my best characteristic). Good luck all CM
