Professor Lindy Durrant receives Waldenström award from the Swedish Society of Oncology



Scancell Holdings plc, the developer of novel immunotherapies for the treatment of cancer, is delighted to announce that Professor Lindy Durrant, Scancell's Chief Scientific Officer, is to receive the Swedish Society of Oncology's Waldenström award. Professor Durrant will be presented with the award at the Swedish Society of Oncology Annual Meeting on Thursday 21 March 2019 at 13:30 CET in Stockholm, Sweden, and will give an honorary lecture to fellow society members. The theme of the lecture will be on novel approaches to cancer vaccinations, including references to both ImmunoBody® and Moditope®, Scancell's novel immunotherapies for the treatment of cancer.



The Jan Waldenström award is presented for a successful career in cancer research. Waldenström macroglobulinemia is a type of non-Hodgkin lymphoma and is named after Jan Gösta Waldenström (17 April 1906-1 December 1996), the Swedish doctor of internal medicine, who first described the disease.



Professor Lindy Durrant, co-founder and Chief Scientific Officer of Scancell, is an internationally recognised immunologist in the field of tumour therapy. She has worked for over 20 years in translational research, developing products for clinical trials including monoclonal antibodies and cancer vaccines. Lindy and her team have developed a platform called ImmunoBody®, which uses DNA encoding human antibodies engineered to express tumour antigens, to stimulate potent killer T cells for the treatment of melanoma and lung cancer. Her team is also the first group to show that immune responses to stress induced modifications, the Moditope® platform, induces strong anti-tumour responses. Lindy also has a personal chair in cancer immunotherapy at the University of Nottingham and has published over 200 original papers and patents.



Professor Lindy Durrant, Chief Scientific Officer of Scancell, said:

Yeah, a mother hen is far better than what I have been called on here for years now. Tell me do mother hens bite??!!!

Tommy, yes, from the last few days I would say we have seen ii selling, whether that be from City Financial or those iis that sold as a result of them we will find out soon. As we saw on Tuesday and yesterday too there were what seemed to be ii buys too, a series of trades executed within seconds of each other and outside the limits set by MMs for PIs.

Hence i believe we saw quite a small trading range on the bid side all day, happily moving away from 5.50 to buy mid morning, for those top upped already. As you know impossible to call the majority of trades, what was important was the 2.5m volume the SP up 3.68% and at least 13 trades, buys at 5.90, which kinda confirmed to me a flow of selling to come, hopefully taken up again today by equally determined buyers as we saw yesterday.

Lets have a good day, so it looks like we have a very distressed seller/s, but we have very determined buyers too, who can see the value building in our IP, which one day willreflect our SP better.

Morning All. above all, lets enjoy our day, I know i have been summoned bak to the cancer unit Monday week, my insistance on no further treatment about to be blown away, yes, each day is precious, make sure as a true mother hen that ours is.

Enjoyed yesterday very much, or should i say today. If we ever do open up blue we have for some time finished red. Today it didn"t despite some large sells, and any thoughts that it was just any Patent seemed to disperse quite early on.

Certainly looking forward to the next news already and seeing the sort of rise MTFB enjoyed early doors, our 38 trades paled into insignificence seeing their 4500 odd trades. I wouldn"t mind we started the day with a higher market cap.

Looking forward to the morning as ever, my hopes rarely change, just bolstered by a blue day and a reminder shares can go up as well as down!!! Catch you in the morning then, well dne to Scancell on yesterdays news, now lets get that IND in and return to human trials. I get the feeling many investors are waiting for us at that point in time. Still hard to call the 5.75 black trades, and the 150k delayed from the same batch at 5.75 showing as a sell.

Is where we are ATM. Many millions deposited in the box again today, just £650k on the M/Cap.

We know what we need to do that, and Scancell will step up PR when it comes. MTFB moved up today from 5.9 to 14.75, would be worth £20k to me here, and IMHO our turn will come
