I guess it will depend quite a bit on the mix of pit(s) feeding the plant in 2022.
Yes - it’s been a familiar annual cycle with Hum. At the beginning of the year there’s big hope. We get our guidance and all pull out our calculators and say wow. Look how much we can make versus our market cap. Then there’s a surprise. Something unexpected has popped up (sometimes within our control sometimes not) which means we are playing catch up. Then there’s reassurance - it’s going to be more difficult than we thought say management but we have time / a high grade zone. Investors get anxious and grizzle about management for a couple of quarters before reality is announced just before the end of year and repeat. As an underwater long termer I am certainly hoping it’s different this time! However, whilst Yan has struggled the project pipeline has been a strength to managements credit.
B2gold managed to have a decent Q1 22 in Mali despite the sanctions. One challenge they highlighted was difficulty in resupply of reagents but this has been overcome. Fingers crossed Hum‘s managed the same - and not bumped into some new issue
Way to go for me. I thought this was good value in the low 30s. I averaged down in the mid 20s. I averaged down in the low 20s. I averaged down in the high teens. Then I ran out of money. Sharing this for any high average holders out there!
Somethings up, perhaps Q1 is a good one finally. Perhaps they’ve finally found the mythical and long promised high grade zone!
Stupid question have I read it right that the 2022 long term incentive scheme which pays out in 2025 is equivalent to 3.8% of the current share float, and any views if normal? I was extrapolating over 10 years
Interesting that Hum have had the SE deposit results in their possession since before Christmas and these have not yet been released. Current approach seems to be to soften bad news with some positive drill results so perhaps they are being held back to accompany Q4 results - however I just think they get lost in the negative sentiment.
Looking at the website it looks like Murray Patterson has left the company as discussed here earlier. Belinda van Lente is now listed as part of senior management as group mineral geologist.
Hum committed to convene a call with investors in a December RNS. What questions will you / would you liked asked of management? Last time they gave limited notice to get questions so i thought would be good to get thinking caps on. I’m just curious what other investors want to know, not offering to co-Ordinate or anything like that
ps thanks for the digger jokes Swampy & Bushy, had a good laugh at that!
I’m very excited to see the SE drill which the company has in its possession. I think I counted over 60 holes drilled and waiting on results from last SE summers release. I don’t expect it will do much for the share price give the guidance miss and last quarter. However as a long term holder SE could add several years of mine life at good AISC.
Hum’s Twitter included pictures of the excavator arriving in case anyone missed it:

Good to have it, I thought it might be a bit on the small side but know nothing.
Here’s Dan at the Kouroussa financing signing ceremony with Coris on 17th December:

I found this article about the Yanfolila area. It seems there has been unrest related to Chinese miners (if Google translation is correct):
“For several months, residents of the Yanfolila circle, located in southern Mali, have been opposing the presence of Chinese mining companies in their area. In particular, they accuse them of polluting the nearby river. On December 2, they tried to drive them out, during an operation called "Out the Chinese destroyers the environment".
Perhaps this explains the recent stoppage.

Bunker Hill put out a big announcement today:
Bunker Hill Announces $50 Million Project Finance Package, Mine Purchase, and US EPA Settlement Agreement Amendment
They could be on their way
I don’t think I can see Murray Paterson in the updated presentation and noticed he’s not been signing off recent drill results. I had been wondering if he’s moving on. I always liked his Vox interviews
55m at 35.72 g/t from 77m
That’s quite the drill result from Kouroussa
Where are the SE drill results from holes drilled back in the summer. Where is the ‘coming soon’ investor presentation. What’s the latest from site after recent disruption - is all well or are there problems. Would be great to hear something from Hum.
In the recent update there was a reference to heap leaching -
“This updated Company reserves statement highlights Hummingbird has a variety of sources to achieve this goal, including open pit, underground and under evaluation heap leach options.”
Maybe I missed it but I don’t remember reading about this before? Could be interesting
Hum linked a new FT article on their Twitter about SMO.
That’s me!
