Btw, the U.S. has given billions to Kiev and alot of that has ended up in Zelensky and his friend's pockets. I'm sure Trump has gathered evidence of this now. Very interesting to note it was Scott Bessent, the money guy, who was sent to see Zelensky a few weeks ago. He was there to find where the money had gone. I'm sure this information could be used to 'pressure' Zelensky.

Getting back to the tariffs, the fact none were placed on Russia is certainly a good indication of U.S./Russia economic co-operation going forward.

The excuse from the Trump administration i.e. 'very little trade anyway' is clearly distraction. The U.S. still gets fertilizer and aluminium etc from Russia, and that's because they need it.

Of course it's *possible* that an annoyed Trump will place sanctions/tariffs on Russia, but at this point that'd hurt the U.S. far more than Russia, so seems unlikely.

Trump does tend to loudly threaten at time, but this appears to be purely a negotiation tactic, which Russia can/will ignore. Worth mentioning in his first term Trump threatened to 'totally destroy' North Korea, and had a summit meeting with rocket man Kim a few months later

Worth emphasizing that Dmitriev was also at the Rubio/Lavrov meeting a few weeks ago. One wonders why the head of Russia's soverign wealth fund is at the centre of negotiations.

In the '90s Russia was a total economic basketcase.

Russia has stated they won't allow NATO 'peace keepers' but I'm certainly under the impression they'd allow them from other countries.

India currently has UN 'peace keeping' forces in Lebanon, Congo, Sudan, Haiti, Liberia and Côte d'Ivoire.

Since 2014 russian TV has continually covered the ethnically russian civilian population of east Ukraine being bombed by nazi Kiev forces. Plenty of men are prepared to enlist for what they see as a humanitarian intervention.

Zelensky is aware of everything? He isn't 'aware' of the location of 100 billion in aid.

At this point you might see the U.S. persuing Zelensky for what they consider 'stolen' assets. And I'm not sure there's anywhere he can hide?

This is clearly *stealing* and the Russians have a legal case to retrieve the assets & the interest. If you'd have asked me a few weeks ago I don't think the legal case would succeed but now you conceivably get the U.S. advocating for them.

If you actually check the link for the "two weeks" comment, it's not even clear whether he did say it. However, the point is Russia *could* take Kiev in two weeks....they don't want to though. That's not their aim!

(Although worth noting Ukraine's armed forces were a lot stronger in 2022 than they were in 2014.)

Whether something is a 'putin talking point' or whatever is irrelevant. The question is whether it's *true*. Whether it's *fact*. Facts don't care about you're feelings.

Russia wants to protect the people of east Ukraine, who have been massacred by Kiev since 2014, and stop the literally Nazis Ukrainian armed forces getting American nuclear weapons. And Russia has succeeded. If they wanted to 'take Ukraine' they'd have gone about the war in a completely different way.
