TheTraveller, good man. I am very happy for you. Bravo! Basicaly those shorters from Liberium Capital paid for your profit :)) Of course my posting about that late reported share buy was meant to be a joke :))
No advice meant of course! IMO you should think about building a decent portfolio of shares.
Like a gardener you will take care of your PF every other week and swap here and there if wished or necessary. With a decent ten, twelve or fifteen shares in your portfolio you will always some sort of "iron in the fire", where from month to month some of your shares outperform the others and so on.
And if one share lags behind again (or sucks like PFG) then you live worry free, because your will be occupied with several other winners.
Best to sort it through different amounts:
1) Large 30-50k gbp stakes in FTSE blue chips
2) Large stakes in foreign bluechips recommended in your newspapers
3) Normal 15-25k stake for large-cap opportunity shares like PFG or some large gold miner
4) Mid sized 10-12k for medium risky shares like ARS or N4P
5) Small 5 - 7k stakes in risky shares like EUA or WRES
6) Ignorable silly small 2k amounts for some high risk betting
7) And always a decent amount of cash in your backhand to be able to top up etc.
This example is for a 500k portfolio, including 75k cash reserve.
If your overall capital is somewhat less, simply take the above figures and adjust them accoringly. The average european shareholder only has around 35 - 70k Pounds in stocks.
No advice meant, but we are ought to keep an eye on the financial news right now!! The interest rates are set to rise globally, which will not be good for certain stocks.
