At the moment any kind of publicity is good for us I would suggest. It focuses the attention of investors who have never heard of us as well as “antis”. Lithium mining is hardly on the Richter scale of fracking in environmental terms and even that seems to be progressing in the UK in spite of protests and the odd tremble or two. It’s a tricky area for the greens who want us to give up fossil fuels in favour of clean energy but have then realised that practical energy storage solutions involve digging holes in the earth again for different chemicals. No doubt SAV will be doing all the right things in the local area with regards to community engagement?

I think In Brackets posted that a week or two ago but certainly worth another airing to anyone who missed it. Good to see the week ending on a positive note. Doesn’t take many trades to get the share price moving north. Road show plus improving Li prices as a result of SQMs lower Q3 production output probably encouraged investors? Let’s hope for more of the same next week!

The talk around the Electronica trade show this week was about the lack of supply of both Li ion cells and various electronic components. The Panasonic’s of this world are reporting sharply rising material prices. The need to plan 12-18 months ahead or have no products was emphasised. VW better have their supply chain secured to make any EVs let alone flooding the market with them which is laughable in such a short timescale. If you have a nice big supply of battery grade lithium you are in luck. Guess what, we have, but would be investors are still confused by watching supplier SPs and not joining the dots in the big picture! Our time will come and soon. It all hinges on supply contracts being signed. Not long to wait I’m sure.

Had a chat with the Skeleton guys today at Electronica (trade show) in Munich. Another solution for islands, buses etc. Capicitors use no scarce minerals, just a bit of aluminium and graphene-type carbon. A bit niche and not a kWhr type technology like Li-ion but there you are. “Skeleton Technologies, a leading expert in graph-based energy storage systems, is now supporting the self-sufficient power grid of the Isle of Eigg in the Scottish Sea. Compelling until you get to the “performance this ytd” slide and its a sea of negative returns with the odd positive %.....and look who it is, our own little SAV almost floating alone on AIM! BCN up another 17% today on sentiment which in my mind is the only current driver of this sector. Probably a good time to buy into selected Lithium stocks if this example is repeated with a huge upside. Grim’s charting may actually be correct on this occasion! Let’s hope DA has lots to say but is keeping his powder dry for times of more positive sentiment as ATD suggests?

Another link in the battery chain but more lithium processing investment would be welcome. If it should arise in Finland, I believe we have some assets there?

Good to see BCN up 18% today on Just a whiff of optimism. Not a whiff of news from SAV. The PR campaign seems to have lost a bit of impetus in recent weeks? The monthly Oman community newsletter, buried on the website is not heavily publicised to investors but seems to have more content than investors get via the usual channels. Maybe tweak it and widen the circulation?

...Alara continue to update on progress, quarter by quarter. News of a contract placed for perimeter fencing around the site may not seem like much but it will enclose a real copper mining project with a licence and support from Omangov’s Tanfeedh. At one point SAV were hoping to be the first to be approved and at the moment the lack of news would suggest that they are not even a close second. Meanwhile Alara report rising copper demand in China and while Lithium is exciting stuff, copper is a market that doesn’t need to be created. So I do hope we still have management focus on Oman even if the Director bonus is unlikely to pay out under the current scheme targets?

With all the the negative press around the Moz villagers displaced by greedy mineral sands developers I can’t see that this is a project that will get waived through? More likely to become a political football for years. About as popular as another fracking proposal in Cheshire I should imagine? Eyes firmly on Portugal!

SOLG’s resources are on a somewhat larger scale with the top grade declared being 70MT at 1.1%. Whether there are areas of higher grade I don’t know. I have a few for interest.
