Excellent post Laxey!
Your general description/question around the kind of process they may be involved provides illustration of the complexity of the negotiations. As I tried to explain but not so well, it's difficult to know what kind of update we'd be getting at this stage if the process had not reached a sufficient point of substance. The process we can guess is extremely fluid. Indeed, when I contacted them about 10 days ago, they said they were still in the process. They still could be and even if things are going brilliantly, it could be that there's nothing yet they can report , unless they are able to 'We're still in a constructive, productive process.'
You make a great point about the way NCCL were approached by GE-CMEC. GE-CMEC have a very clear plan Ncondezi! :-)
Regarding the tweet, it would certainly be daft tweeting that (about other projects successfully securing funding etc) if they knew they were not in a good place.themselves.
When I look at it, I remain extremely confident nobody wants to walk away from the project. We need to move it on and GE certainly need it. Thinking about it, I would rather NCCL/Hanno were allowed to get on with it rather than be rushed into getting a holding update out (as much as I still want to see an RNS that says 'We're doing great!').
