DML now recovered half of the losses of the first half hour... lets hope this continues... im off to bed!

does the 2 day rule not apply? if the ASX stays at these levels for 2 days then i would share your concern, but i am under the impression that with kevin rudd meeting top mining execs today, a compromise will be agreed regarding the proposed mining supertax... this issue has sent a shockwave through the ASX which is also under pressure from the reigning in of chinese fiscal policy, which in my view is probably a very prudent move on their part if they want to avoid a boom and bust style economy... and it will actually strengthen the chinese markets in due course.

i bet a load of Oz investors got stopped out today... and they will have to pay a premium to get back in! this week is the first time i have seen this kind of price action with DME, and its happened twice... hold on to your hats!

Miners plummet as metals fall Base metals declined sharply. Copper and nickel moved down to US$3.21/lb and US$11.35/lb, while zinc dropped to US$0.97/lb. DML is recovering fast on ASX now, it seems like a massive treeshake has just occurred, dropping to 70c very quickly then recovering faster than it is possible to buy back in...74c now and climbing! i predict a close of about 77c on ASX if DML is to match the sterling value by close... i wonder if soros is behind this massive volitility?

ASX:DML taking a pounding in Oz, down 10c after just 24 minutes... lets hope that sanity is restored soon! DME has no exposure to the new proposed Oz miners tax, but according to recent news reports there could be a government compromise negotiated today... DME will be mining a commodity that will keep its value if currencies are diluted, and will continue to be in massive demand globally... and DME offers a great long term investment!

now nearly 10p down from recent high, thats nearly 20%, so maybe a little further to go, but not much!

there is always the possibility that there will be a placing or open offer very soon, maybe the markets have got wind of the price set and they are rerating accordingly... DME will release news very soon regarding what finance they need for the next stage, how they will get it, and what partners will be involved... exciting times for sure, but lets hope the next news, which will be BIG, is also taken well by the markets!

i think the double wammy of tax rises on oz miners and the recent weakness of copper prices have taken the wind out of our sails here, and also the continued monetary tightening in china make the future growth of china uncertain... and some keep going on about a chinese bubble set to burst... yet DME are not actually producing yet and wont for some time, so china can have a little rest and we will be ready and waiting when they recover... nice time to buy now IMO, i cant see this falling under 45p, and it probably wont get as low as that, so at 47/49 perhaps now would be a good time to add!

the DME share price fell more than 10% on asx last night before recovering impressively to end down just 2c. The SP was wobbly due to the new 40% tax to be imposed by the oz government on oz miners, but DME is not mining in oz so it is unclear whether this new tax will have any impact on DME at all... in the US today the markets have recovered strongly as fears over the euro and greek default are put to one side at least for the time being. I would therefore expect DME to consolidate and recover from this level...

clearly Technip, who have no exposure to the BP oil leak, understand the implications of this disaster on their business and are showing excellent business accumen by offering to help BP in their hour of need. I would expect this friendly gesture will gain them more market share in coming months and years at the expense of other smaller and less oportunistic and less capable companies. I wonder whether other deep water drilling campaigns in places like the south falklands basin will still have the same viability after this inevitable environmental and commercial nightmare!

Tupi is in 2,200 m (7,318 ft) of water 300 km (186 mi) offshore Brazil in Santos basin. Production is from the pre-salt layer. The piping challenges are the water depth and both CO2 and H2S content. The flexible pipes will incorporate a new riser monitoring system using distributed temperature sensing. Technip in Brazil will manufacture the pipe with the support of the Le Trait, France, plant. Delivery is scheduled to start near the end of 2010 and finish near the end of 2012.

the TUPI project is massive and will be given to several companies, WSM could still be in line to get some of the work. the reason for the SP fall is simple, "Oil leak in Gulf of Mexico", even though to my knowledge WSM had no exposure whatsover to the incident, but they operate in the same sector. see the charts and compare LSE:BP., LSE:WSM and NYSE:HAL and you will see a virtual mirror image. The strange thing is that WSM dropped several hours before the others which implies that WSM shareholders knew first... but given that the top brass at WSM are all ex vice presidents of halliburton then we can see why WSM was able to react quickly. Now WSM (and others) have a major problem... insurance! BP. has a massive mkt cap and will absorb any "hit" easily even if they end up paying out $500m, while little WSM is already weak and may struggle to absorb increased insurance costs short term... it is clear now that WSM cannot continue as an independent company and takeover is the obvious solution, there is no alternative IMO all IMHO and er DYOR....

got 51.75p, was too slow to get under 51... strong rebound on ASX tonight, was 4c up after 30 mins trading but now just 2c up after 1 hour... but looking good!

nippon increased thier holding to 30 million today, now 13%, maybe atakeover soon...
