For any party wishing to participate in PANR the decision could well rest on whether the additional cashflow benefits from the gas income may be key, be the final financial determining factor?

I think that is a very sensible analysis, save for the wild speculation that the SP will double, letting down your broad analysis. This will only be likely in the event that everything which goes before it is positive and that any initial heads of terms or memorandum of understanding is positive.

The experts appear to concur that there's an abundance of oil in this geology but the 'wells' bit is yet to be proven. Therein lies the issue.

There is oil in geology around the world, some is commercially extractable and some is not.

If you can put forward an argument, with evidence, which demonstrates that PANR's acreage has oil which is commercially extractable, I'm sure you'll have followers in numbers that the Pied Piper of Hamlyn would have dreamed of.

Until you do, then I fear that, for the most part, other than the reckless, desperate or equally narcissistic, observers will view your rockets as utter nonsense.

Content of no surprise whatsoever as to timelines, though "an update by the end of the summer" might have been considered a worst case scenario.

No mention of negotiation, no mention of a Memorandum of Understanding, no an Agreement of Heads of Terms. The latter two would be non-binding at this stage, but might have least have indicated a degree of positive progress.

I was asked a question earlier and my long-winded missive answered it. I thought that there had been explanation of views and positions here and justification for how those opinions are formulated. I can't be any more honest and I can't think of anything I missed out. As to the SP I said I haven't a clue and went on to describe all of the factors I've considered.

I think there's potential for a minority share as you suggest (more or less) and PANR would then need to consider the associated risks and net present value of whatever they stand to receive in the future, particularly as they will have little control as a minority stakeholder. I think there's a strong possibility that they'll be taken out completely, like it or not.

The best possible scenario for PANR is that there should be some form of competition with more than one genuinely interested party. It's no fun as a seller when you have only one bidder and are thus walking on eggshells in negotiations, with the potential for the acquirer to walk away if you overplay your hand.

It would be useful to hear your definition of a 'vanilla deal' in this scenario?

A lot of faith is being placed on Spencer's skills in business and negotiation, and I wouldn't suggest otherwise but is anyone aware of anything he's done in this sector, other than by being underwater in his investment in PANR - that in itself ought to place question marks.

As I suggested earlier, there'll be some hot operators sitting opposite him at the negotiating table who, moreover, know their subject inside out.
