As most of the readers of these posts probably know already, the UK govt announced yesterday that Dexamethasone, a steroid used in the treatment of autoimmune illnesses such as Lupus has been shown to be effective in helping the most seriously ill Covid - 19 patients. It's cheap and widely available in most countries. So even if Lupuzor/peptide P140 turns out to be more effective than Dexamethasone, the likelihood that it will be much more expensive and that it will take some time to scale up its production may prevent it from being taken up by the health authorities in the UK and other countries. Good to g et some guidance from the Board of IMM on this.

MaverickD: Why would you expect news before the AGM? It's only 2 weeks from now. I believe it is too early to become too excited about IMM's prospects. There are many research companies which have developed peptides which are of interest in the search for effective drugs against Covid-19 whether as Therapeutics or Antivirals. I've held IMM shares for years and learned to live with delay and disappointment.

Nolupus: .Thanks for this. It's a must read for investors in IMM. Covid-19 presents a complicated challenge for scientists. Likely key role for selected peptides. Great care needed before a vaccine is chosen for widespread use.
Trial in France in which Ureka is involved looks very appropriate for solving some of the challenges posed by this coronavirus

Nolupus: I owe you and apology. I wrote that I believed that the leading lupus patient organisation that Avion was consulting with in relation to the new Phase 3 for Lupuzor was the Lupus Foundation of America. I have not had confirmation from IMM that this is correct so until I do I have to leave this as speculation.
As to the identity of the KOLs recruited by Avion to likewise help in devising the parameters of the new Phase 3 trial, I think I conflated the KOLs with the three American members of IMM's Scientific Advisory Board. One of them, Dr Daniel J Wallace has an illustrious career in treating lupus. He has a CV as long as your arm; another, Lee S Simon, has a history of research in autoimmune diseases and now heads a consultancy which advises on devising trials for new drugs. The other members of this Board. one other American, the other two from Europe have similarly impressive research experience in this field. They may or may not be amongst the KOLs recruited by Avion although one presumes they are being kept fully in the picture.
But I nevertheless apologise if I have misled you or other readers on this site.

I very much appreceate your informed posts on Lupuzor. I'm not sure that I understand them 100% especially the various diseases of the immune system mentioned by MDJM and identified only by their initials.
As far as his last post is concerned in which he recommends that IMM makes contact with leading Lupus organisations, IMM told shareholders within the past 3 months that Avion has signed a collaboration agreement with a leading lupus patient organisation in the US. I believe it is the Lupus Foundation of America. It also has signed up what it calls KOLs Key Opinion Leaders. From reading their CVs they do seem to be very eminent in the Lupus field of research.

Nolupus. You are very insistent that Lupuzor is a failed drug. I wonder why.
This is despite the posts from others who obviously have more pharma knowhow than you that Lupuzor did not fail its first Phase 3 trial in the cohort of Lupus-positive patients in the European cohort. The numbers of patients in this cohort was 4 times larger than in the small US trial where it did fail. It was an anomaly which I am sure Avion will sort out with the help of the US Lupus experts it has recruited in the new better funded Phase 3 trial.
SO LUPUZOR IS NOT A FAILED DRUG - YET.

It's difficult to make sense of your latest except that it's clearly written without evidence of its main assertion that IMM will go bust. No use critising TM. He is only one of a team in which the most influential players are the ones that understand the science issues like the CEO Zimmer and the members of the Scientific Management Team.

Painter's name is not listed on this research paper from Emory. Nor does the paper make any recommendation for any remedial process or drug.
So why should it concern IMM that the paper draws attention to the similarity in the inflammation processes of SLE Lupus and Covid - 19?

You are right. There is both excellent science and a diversified portfolio to justify investing in IMM. But there will be no sustained rise in SP until there is a major breakthrough in one of IMM's 4 research areas. The SP will bob up and down cos too many shareholders look upon this share as an opportunity to make small trading profits instead of holding to accumulate in advance of the first major breakthrough - one of many, I hope.

It's from the French Govt-supported COVID19 research consortium of which EUREkA (IMM's subsidiary) is a member that I've been looking to for good news. There must be plenty of urgency behind their work.

Lagarde is a politician/economist/financial expert very different from Dr Muller. Suggest you look at Muller's bio summary on IMM website. She is a distinguished scientist not in the eyes of politicians but of her science peers.
She has little in common with Lagarde apart from being a Frenchwoman of a certain age.

I think it is unlikely that I am Dr Muller's No 1 fan. She must be highly regarded in the French scientific community for her to have been appointed to Pres Macron's principal advisory body on how Covid-19 is to be tackled.
I agree, let's stick to the facts. And one such fact is that Muller is one of the top French scientists in the fields of immunology and anti-inflammatory drug research and has a better knowledge of antivirals than you or I. That's why I still have faith in her and the rest of the IMM Scientific Management Team to ensure that IMM's innovations are based on good science.

Dr Sylviane Muller is no ordinary VIP. She is France's top immunologist, has won many awards for her research, has many patents to her name and is a senior research figure at the National Centre for Scientific Research in France. More to the point, she is the co-founder of Immupharma France and a member of IMM's Scientific Management Team. Last week she was appointed to a new research body appointed by Pres Macron to advise the French Govt on Covid-19 research.
It is also to be noted that the IMM subsidiary, EUREkA, last month became a member of a research group funded by the French Govt to develop antiviral and other drugs to fight Covid-19.
Immupharma is essentially a French company. All of its Scientific Managment Team are senior researchers at the National Centre for Scientific Research (CRNS) and its active research is carried out in the research labs of the CRNS.
So we have a French company in British clothing. Research-wise the ball is in France and Sylviane Muller is the key player with the ball.
So keeping your eye on the ball means keeping your eye on Dr Muller.

It is because Dr Muller is the inventor of Lupuzor and because she is backed by the CNRS, the leading research institution in France, that I decided to invest in IMM. She is the intellectual powerhouse behind the company. Her leading position in the field of autoimmune disease, as evidenced by her recent appointment to Macron's committee of experts on COVID-19, is why I still have faith in Lupuzor.

I should have added to the last sentence of my previous post - What's new that caused the SP to rise today?

I can't see what was new in the summary of IMM's R and D situation in the RNS published today. All this info had been relayed to investors in the RNS of 30th March to explain the need for the new funding by Lanstead and the RNS of 7th April that featured an interview with Tim McC.
Can someone enlighten me?

Nlp: I was trying to make the point that it was in its autoimmune properties that Lupuzor could perhaps be effective in reducing inflammation in the lungs of Covid patients. I had not appreciated that it was slow acting and therefore would not reduce lung inflammation in time to save the lives of seriously ill Covid patients. Thanks for this info.
