It will all come down to exactly how the £4 billion is returned to shareholders, many would like to see a special dividend of £0.80, but I think an increase of dividends over the next 3 years and perhaps more share buybacks are more likely
With the current buy back programme being for approx 5% of the company, I would expect the buyback alone to impact the price by approx 5% based on the maths, however....the news that Aviva is buying back 5% of shares with a lot more £££ still to "return" to shareholders will be the driving force behind price rises IMHO
As the shares are cencelled then the earning per share increases ever so slightly, when it comes to dividend time these will be slight higher as a result of fewer shares in the market.
There were over 100 blocks of 500 in yesterday's buy backs - they are shown in the RNS

I wouldn't be surprised if a flurry of delayed buys suddenly appear!
Its the suggested 45p dividend that I am more excited about :)
Dividend payout this week and climbing shareprice, yet there is little "chatter" of Evraz on the usual boards and blogs etc.
I still think this share is sat in the shadows and as more and more dividend investors become aware of the strong returns and steady growth we could see the share price climbing further still.
I am however still surprised how much of a "secret" this stock seems to be!
Yes I noticed that, there doesn't seem to be much in the general news about the company, divi, etc - which I assume means there could be a bigger rise once the news does flow to mainstream!
I wonder where it will go today!
I think as we get closer to the ex-divi date and there is more "chatter" about Evraz and the decent profit from the last trading year, we may see an influx of new investors looking to put their money into something "stable" for the next few years once they have made some gains from the covid-19 recovery. I will be keeping an eye on the volumes and SP over the next 2 weeks!
I added Evraz to my SIPP in November and have seen growth of approx. 50% on my holding so far!
21p dividend is nothing to be disappointed about! We would all have liked it to have been higher, but the fact that debt is reduced and profits are up (during the global pandemic) is a sure sign for me that Evraz is on track to deliver again at the next dividend payment, and on into the future.
Interesting to see where we close today!
Apologies, I did not take the interim dividend into account!
What I meant to say was am anticipating annual dividend to be approx. 7-9%
Based on the current price, a 25p dividend would be just 4%
I think everyone is expecting 7%-10% payout
Just what I have seen here and on other boards
Most of us "Pi" are up on our initial investment. The SP was trading around 100p a share, so selling at a 5% premium (when the whole sector is down due to lockdown restrictions) would have been very short sighted by the board!
Thank you, I thought this would be the case but wanted to check - so there is still time to top up :)
From my research I assume we will see a flurry of buys the day before and the price will creep up as a result, then sells on the day to get the cash back out with the "free" 6p per share bonus?
Apologies, this is my first Divi share, mostly I buy and sell as the market moves, but AV. is in my SIPP for the long term (at the moment)
There are a few dates int he RNS, can anyone please confirm what date the holding of shares will be considered for a dividend payment? - ie I have held shares since March 2020, will I get a dividend payment?
Thanks all
The factory is currently tooled up for the DBX and was built to cope with future demand, so is bigger than needed! - This has allowed staff to return to work and maintain social distancing laws in Wales. I think there could be an option to move all production here, and Welsh Goverment would be keen to support jobs and growth in the market - so one to watch!
I got caught like that a few times, so my strategy now when buying for longer term investment is to buy £1000 of a share, when I "cash out" I only cash out my initial investment, so if the price has doubled I am in a position where I have my £1000 cash back and £1000 of "free" shares - that way if the price rises futher then I still benefit from it :)
Just my own theory - but so far so good!
2% a day for the next few weeks would be a lovely way to grow, however I think with so many people on furlough/working from home there are far more "day trading" newbies or relatively inexperienced traders who are able to "watch the stock" and buy on dips, sell on peaks giving us some significant swing on the intraday price - I too am only able to do more research and monitoring as I am working from home and have been able to do some quick in and out trades in my SIPP for some nice boosts.
If we can close at (or above) 70 today with a green day heading into the weekend I will be very happy :)
There are still some BIG sells going through when the SP gets close to breaking through!
I have just bought another £1k worth at 66.5 in my "day trading" fund as expect to see a solid return on this long term, but also could be a quick 10% within 24 hours
Morning all, new here, been watching this share since the contract award RNS in March, and based on the other award recently I've decided to buy in. I've got some of these in my SIPP so here for the long haul, let's see how it does over the coming years.
