RE: Heading North Everyday ?7 Aug 2024 06:19
About half of all plastic on earth has been produced in the last thirteen years. If the current trend continues, around the year 2050, there will be about twelve billion tons of plastic in landfills and in the environment. More plastic is being thrown away than we can clean up, even though we are doing our best.
According to a study published in April 2024, 220 million tonnes of plastic waste will be generated in 2024, which is a 7.11% increase from 2021. This is due to an imbalance between the amount of plastic that is consumed and the capacity to manage it at the end of its life. As a result, nearly 70 million tons of plastic is expected to end up in nature in 2024.
