I was a bit shocked about AP saying Manaila will never be a big profit earner, I think he meant until the processing plant at Carlibaba was built and new trucks arrive, IMO he was talking historically - they bought it and got licenced as no one believed after BP VAST could get a licence, it was a loss making mine.
Since we acquired the 100% of manaila the area of the licence has been expanded 20 times, a new open pit has been targeted and the resource estimate is for a mine life of 20 years+, this together with VAST technical expertise has made it cash flow positive.
The point is would a company like Mercuria, (the largest private commodity broker on the planet) lend VAST cash on Manaila if it was not going to be profitable? - I sincerely doubt it!
