Candidates are invited to apply for a newly created Research Assistant post under the Department of Biomedical Science Industrial Strategy Initiative to work on a project funded by Paraytec Ltd, directed towards development of a biosensor platform for rapid detection of a COVID-19 biomarker. You will be responsible for engineering mammalian cell lines to express a series of recombinant proteins and using these to develop a bioassay based on fluorescence detection. This post will contribute to translation of basic biology findings into a commercial application. You should have a BSc (or equivalent experience) in a relevant scientific discipline, along with significant experience in cell line production, transfection, protein isolation, and bioassay development with significant laboratory experience in the use of biomolecular imaging.
