I think NFT's are unappealing and simply hype because of a couple of extraordinary prices 'apparently' achieved at auction. I say 'apparently' because it is entirely possible for the sellers to buy back their own material or for the auction to announce a 'sale' onlt to cancel it later.

Why is anybody going to own a share of the BG stamp which then cannot be sold or traded? Much like a timeshare, people who own shares will struggle to sell them on and the second hand market in shares will be much lower than the £800 proposed. It's all a joke and SG are really moving into the realms of fantasy here. Last throw of the dice as Devon said.

Will SGI sell all of the rare stamp shares. I suggest there will be manipulation of unsold shares wirh SG holding the unsold 'stock'.
Also what happens after the rush of determined collectors get a share. Interest will wane and the shares will end up like royal wedding collections....

So much money is involved, these games and posturing will continue for some time yet. My plan is to hold and top up on weakness.

The long term holders have already been pretty much wiped out down from £3 a share to 3p, a 99% loss.
The investors in rare stamps have also been wiped out, the investment portfolios giving approx 80% loss.
The collectors who buy from SG and pay overvalued prices come out best with maybe a 60% loss.

Its a pretty disgusting business model really!

With multiple offtakers lining up, news could come any day....

Maybe at 1.5p but I'm not keen really. I think Pearly wanted a run up to 4p pre-results to get out but that didn't happen.
Some people have returned to collecting but I believe this is short term interest and the general move away from stamps will accelerate now people can do other things. People will want a big Christmas for example, but the money won't go into stamps.

On the BG stamp, we all know it is going to be a monumental disaster and I agree it is the last throw of the dice. If they cannot sell 10m £1 shares in it what happens then?

Having a deeper look into the figures, it is pretty bad, but in line with my expectations.

The chairman says "The pre-tax loss from continuing operations also increased to £4.1m (2020: £2.5m) resulting in the Group having net liabilities of £1.0m at the balance sheet date (2020: net assets £3.7m)"

"There is still a lot to do to achieve our goals of positive cash flow"
The company has net liabilities and will require further cach injections to reach sustainability. I imagine Phoenix will pull the plug in a couple of years of recurring and increasing losses.

they sold £2.5m stock for £800,000. What is the remaining £13m stock worth?

I had been banging on about the auction business all last year...I hope people took notice at the time

The new lease is £1.8m for a shop which has hardly any customers!

Anyway just a few thoughts. I also note profit per share has dropped 50% from 3p to 2p.

A couple of words stand out...."financially...bloodied".

This is probably a quiet August, holiday season in Europe, covid etc, but September could be full of great news. Outgoing Czech administration will want bragging rights over Cinovec and gigafactories & possible multiple offtake agreements. A good time to top up with great things to come!

I would really like to see £2 as a medium term target (12 - 18 months). There are some unknowns coming up such as Elections, but I think forward looking to £2 is not unreasonable.

I'm getting the feeling things are about to fall into place...its been a long time coming......

It did drop below that very briefly in the early part of 2020, but the Phoenix buyout marks a fairly strong line.

They did have a good sale, I bought only one lot, but when is the next auction? The point I keep making is that prices are high due to lack of good collections. If they could put a similar sale together for September it could mark a turning point for them.

It certainly does SG no harm in having it for the publicity, although what happens if they cannot sell it at a profit?
